Well if Loui doesn't work with Krejci, which like you said it's only 6 games (and i thought he has looked solid with him) then its time to move him. Doesn't work well with Bergeron, 3rd line? It's that or trade, and he's too good for the 3rd line.

I think they've looked very mediocre,the Krejci line is averaging about 4.5 shots on net ES per game with Loui. Hopefully,Claude simply sticks with it. I'm reluctant to throw any blame at Pastrnak (underperforming as a 1st liner in his second year) or Koko,but there is that.

what if Loui is by far the best UFA? if all we had to go by were the out of town highlights we'd probably be begging for the Bruins to sign this "perfect Julien style Bruin". if we then watched more of his game and saw how he consistently appears to be among the best 2 or 3 skaters every night and we'd probably be telling the Don to go for 5 @ 7.

i'd have to see the list of upcoming UFAs and see if there was a franchise D in that group.

As a Loui supporter, I agree. I think a teM like Dallas would love to add Loui. Maybe one of those young Dallas dmen would be on the table (Oleksiak?)

Exactly. They need to decide way before the deadline or they will get screwed again with another player. Decide if you want him, then if you can afford him, and then if he wants to make a deal. If they wait to long, they will loose value.

Loui's now got 6 games with Krejci and has 4 ES shots on net and 1 goal and 3 assists ES. Krejci has 16 shots on net and 2 goals 0 assists playing with Eriksson ES. So far this combo is not working,hopefully they get 14 more games or so to work it out.

No to that, the 1st is a late one and would kill the value of the prospect, if Lou goes I want their top prospect, we need top talent and players who can make us better/contenders.

I would think the Stars #8 D that can't get sent down would be on the table, yes. I wouldn't take back one of Dallas' prospects as the main part of a deal unless it was Honka, though. Maybe Ritchie, but he has been invisible at way too many Texas Stars games to the point where I'd rather let the Boston scouting staff make a late 1st round pick instead of having Ritchie as the main part coming back.

There will be a boatload of options if the Bruins have cap space and three first round picks to work with.

If you can get Eriksson at reasonable price that doesn't take him too far past his prime (2-4 years). Go for it. If you're going to have to overpay in terms of UFA dollars and UFA years... Grab the picks and make your moves in late June/early July.

Eriksson will produce wherever he goes, even though he is perfectly suited to this system. he's smart enough, and healthy enough now, to do whatever any team asks him to do and to do it at a nearly elite level.

Realistically we are now on the other side of that problem. We don't have a contending team so we have the ability to sell a player for a king's ransom. Loui can definitely fetch us the high return we wouldn't want to give away to get someone like Loui. I would like someone like Anthony Deangelo out of Tampa. RD with high potential, and a couple years from draft so they are closer to the NHL.

I don't think we could pry Deangelo from Tampa but maybe we have something they want, I don't know too many other teams prospects though to comment.

Yeah, ******/struggling D drives possession into the ground. They've had to defend or forecheck far more than optimal, but done a great job doing so. They've looked much better in the offensive zone than stats show, just need to get shots off and preferably into the net. And they've barely played together before, let alone along with either Pasta or Koko. Takes some time gelling. As PP inevitably gets less effective, I fully expect both top lines to produce much more ES to make up for it. They might not all be PPG+, but they'll do fine. Fourth line starting to produce more would be appreciated as well. Not to mention PK getting going.

Last year,the forwards had to play deeper to compensate for the lousy control skills of the defense. This year I don't see that as much,I see more neutral zone play and ineffective offensive zone play. Decent offensive zone time (not great) consumed with board work and pressure,resulting in very little. I'm sure the RW is an issue as well as the newness of the combos,I'm just pointing out the 6 game reality,they've been mediocre.

I'm talking about D-zone exits and how we do them, Chara-McQuaid had a great example last night, Chara iced the puck and then with the 4th try they got the puck out.
It's important to go with speed and surprise opponents, that's not what you see by those stats.
Right now they are ready for our attack and our zone time is not that dangerous because of that, also like I said 3 out of our 4 top D's are bad with the puck so they can't create anything dangerous in the offensive zone, you know when McQuaid/Kevan has the puck that nothing is going to happen.

Also the 1st line right now is Lou-Krejci-someone to carry, Pasta has been injured and Koko is not a 1st line winger, but when you look at Lou&Krejci you notice they are playing well.

We should really forget that 1st, we need top talent, elite potential to fight against Buffalo, Tampa and Florida in the future, look at their young talent and how will we fight against them.

That 1st kills the prospect value and that 1st is a late one.

That would also work.

In fact, that was exactly what happened with Vermette last year. Arizona got a 1st and a prospect and signed Vermette back as UFA.

But if you could get a top prospect who is more developed wouldn't you take it over late 1st+ok prospect?
A prospect we know more about(less risky).

I want us to be aggressive at the draft and anyway move as high as we can, like I sad we need top talent our division will be damm strong in a few years and we need to fight back.
But there are no quarantees that we can move up at the draft or try to move up at the draft, our prospect pool is deep with the depth everywhere but it's lacking that one thing.
