They're all pretty damn loud. I don't think there is any way to decipher which ones are loudest. Not everyone here has been to more than a couple of arenas.

If the Islanders are loud now, can you imagine once they are in Barclays?

How about we equalize every city in the League.

Population of 1m, arena that seats 18k and every team is equal in skill. Then who has the loudest arena?

protip: probably still Winnipeg.

Even as a Canadian, I'm willing to bet NVMC will be louder than the MTS Centre during the playoffs (should the Jets even make the playoffs). I'll never forget that series against the Leafs in '02... it was insanity.

Musicians and Rangers alumni are always talking about how crazy loud MSG is, but it certainly doesn't come through watching on TV. I'm curious if it lived up to that hype during round 2 or 3 of the playoffs last year, or if it does in general.

I have to say that given how good the Bruins were last year, Boston Garden didn't have the acoustics for fans to get really loud. And I was there for a win against the Habs. Of course, we're a bit quieter as of late. Tough to get loud when your GM keeps trading away all the good players for magic beans.

Personally, the acoustics at the Garden stink for concerts - at least they do in the balcony. I got seats for the Boston Strong concert, and while I could tell they were performing their hearts out and I had a really great time anyway, the "mix" seemed off - I could barely recognize some of the music. Of course, that's probably also the byproduct of a concert with a dozen different musical acts that was put together in about a month that was also being recorded for future use, so I'll definitely spot them some points there.

Top 3 Regular Season:

1. Winnipeg by far in the regular season. Seems to be intense and electric. Guess when it's -40 you gotta keep warm somehow. But they need to make the playoffs before I can comment on their post-season exuberance.

2. Montreal. The Bell Centre is usually rocking!

3. Nashville

Post Season (Historically)

1. Montreal
2. Philly
3. Edmonton
4. Ottawa
5. Chicago
6. Vancouver
7. Columbus
8. Winnipeg
9. Dallas
10. St Louis

Montreal is the loudest. They're loud regardless of how their team is doing (sorry Isles fans-but that's not the case with us).

Not everyone.

Its a joke how quiet Rogers arena is in Vancouver. Unless its the playoffs.

Ill throw another vote out for Montreal.

That's because everyone's doing it to spite the irritating voice that yells "MAKE SOME NOOOOOOIIIISSSE" every time the puck is about to drop.

This is a silly thread. Everyone is going to pick their favorite arena.

God no. It's pathetic how quiet the Xcel is, might be about the quietest building in the league. Place only gets some good commotion during the playoffs.

No one here has been to every arena...so here's a cliffnote for how this thread has been and will continue to be for anyone joining just now:

Here is the breakdown of the answers, in 80% of the cases the answer will be a Canadian arena (usually MTL or Winnipeg), the other 20% will be divided into the odd few American cities (NYI, Nashville, Pittsburgh or Philly) or the posters favourite teams arena

for me its not about who's the loudest. its been said several time already that the smaller arena's will be louder. what matters most to me is that the crowd becomes one big group.

like as a Redwings fan when we have a lead with about a minute left and the play stops, and "Don't Stop Believing" comes on. its magic.

It's extremely tough to say what arena is the loudest when I only been to two different arenas besides NVMC.

I been to MSG for a couple of games in the regular season, it get's pretty loud. I feel like it doesn't sound that loud on TV though. I went to a Hurricanes game this year, and it was so quiet it was crazy. They had a couple of workers trying to pump up the fans by starting chants, but it wasn't working. I'm going to Boston February 7th Vs the Islanders so I'll see how that is.

The crowd for the Isles in the regular season this year has been amazing. It's really loud every game, but last week when they played the Penguins it felt like a playoff atmosphere.

Canadiens and Jets seem very loud on TV.
