every team has dumbass fans. i'm certainly not chanting about potvin.Aren’t you guys still crying over a defenseman from 40 years ago?
Compared to UBS/Nassau Coliseum, MSG isn’t even close for the playoffs. I never said it was terrible, I just said it doesn’t compare to what those 2 arenas offer in terms of a viewership aspect/crowd noise. Now if you want terrible, Barclays was dogtrash in terms of an arena. Location was terrible and sightlines suck.every team has dumbass fans. i'm certainly not chanting about potvin.
you're the one insisting msg has a terrible atmosphere, even when there's plenty of evidence from media, players, posters in this thread to the contrary.
and btw i grew up on LI and loved the coliseums atmosphere. i think new yorkers just bring it.
You really haven’t been to all 3 have you. MSG reminds me of Barclays with the acoustics. UBS has a ceiling close to the same height as Nassau Coliseum. Nassau Coliseum was the loudest building I’ve ever been in (Shawn Bates game, the 2021 playoffs, Tavares GWG to beat Florida, the Pittsburgh series where Bylsma called a timeout since it was too loud for Fleury). MSG isn’t even loud when the NYPD and FNDY play in that sold out game, it’s honestly overrated.
But is your favorite teams arena 1,000 times louder?? LMAOMy favorite team has the loudest arena by far. Your favorite team does not.
No, you said UBS was 1,000 times better. So for something to be 1,000 times better the alternative has to be terrible!Compared to UBS/Nassau Coliseum, MSG isn’t even close for the playoffs. I’m glad you took it like that. MSG is still the most overrated arena I’ve been to when it comes to games. It’s pushed like it’s top in the league but all it has going for it is the accessibility via Penn Station. But is your favorite teams arena 1,000 times louder?? LMAO

or consider that your islander bias has something to do with your perception of your rival teams stadium?I’m glad you took it like that. Considering I found Columbus to be a more enjoyable experience as a fan while watching them play Philly 3 years ago over MSG, I guess that makes me bias but you not, noted.or consider that your islander bias has something to do with your perception of your rival teams stadium?
no.. it's everyone else that's wrong!
My brother in christ you've just tried explain how you're not biased with an example of being biased. Also - I'm not saying anything about MSG. The only comment I've made about the Coliseum is that it's indeed loud and rowdy - this goes *against* my bias as a NYR fan.Considering I found Columbus to be a more enjoyable experience as a fan while watching them play Philly 3 years ago over MSG, I guess that makes me bias but you not, noted.
MSG however isn’t comparable in terms of a playoff atmosphere to UBS/Nassau Coliseum, especially in terms of noise. Acoustics of both are comparable due to dimensions and the arena itself is actually louder. That’s just always been the way it is.My brother in christ you've just tried explain how you're not biased with an example of being biased. Also - I'm not saying anything about MSG. I don't think you understand what bias is. You certainly struggle to use it in a sentence.
In any case I was underwhelmed when I went to see a Preds game in 2019. Was pretty dead in there.
My memory could be wonky though because what I really recall about that night was that I took a beautiful girl that Id asked out while she was working her job at the Ryman gift shop, and when she picked me up in her pickup she showed me her shotguns she kept loaded in the cab, plus the beer cans all over the floor.

The TV broadcast can tamp down the crowd noise level, you can’t truly know without being there. Carolina seems crazy loud on TV.Is anyone posting here, qualified by way of actually going to a playoff game (preferably one where the home team won) in many buildings?
This is such a stupid thread, where everyone will extoll their own team's playoff atmosphere.
Pointless. We all know its the Centre Bell.
I'm sorry you put MSG in the quietest group?Loudest:
Edmonton
Vegas
Isles
Carolina
Quietest:
MSG
Tampa
Toronto
Dallas
There's also a lot of buzz and chatter in that arena at all times. As fans are asking each other what icing means.Carolina's secret is their fans were in the parking lot for 8 hours before the game getting absolutely blitzed.

I can't even imagine how loud a playoff game is. Last year when they staged the 3rd period comeback against the Sharks the place went absolutely nuts and was deafening and thats with people leaving cause they though the game was over when the Ducks scored the ENNot gonna lie, there’s something to this.

MSG tends to have a big "corporate" crowd, not surprisingly. Also, a lot of the seats don't have great sightlines for hockey. But you're in the middle of Manhattan, watching an original 6 team, in a famous building... Hard to screw up that atmosphere.

Man, some people really still think it’s like 2008. Place was packed last playoffs standing room only and that bitch was LOUD.Lol @ Florida
