I dunno man, I think if I'm building a team in hopes of creating a winner, I may take Crosby over McDavid to build around. For all of McDavid's other-worldly gifts which are truly incredible to witness. I think Crosby was the better all around player, they just dominate in different ways.

But then again if I'm building a team I may take Draisatil over him too, so I may be crazy. Despite McDavid being the most aesthetically pleasing player I've ever seen play, along with Lemieux.

As a hockey fan that just wants to be entertained give me McDavid, As a fan that wants to win give me Crosby.
100% I take Crosby over McDavid. He just makes everyone around him better. McDavid is simply one of the best individual effort players ever born.

As Gord Miller, LeBrun, McGuire all have stated hockey scouts & management project Bedard to be in Pastrnak (mentioned by name) category no slouch by any means but not a generational player. Basically a notch below the Crosby / Ovy / Jagr / Stamkos / Malkin group
I don’t like stamkos and malkin with those other three, one tier below

Honestly, all I want is to have a player that will be doing more than 82 pts a season. The last one, L'Artiste avec 84 points. When you ask? 2010. How long ago? 13 years ago. Makes no sense.

So, I don't need generational, I don't need elite franchise, all I want, is a freaking point producer that will take our team to the next level, no matter what their label is. But if I had a wishlist:

Bedard
Fantilli
Michkov
Carlsson

Any of these 4, I think we can that the future is bright!

Nah we got 1, seriously.
Bedard is a Hab
Bedard up front and I bet that 6’6” goalie becomes the next Dryden with the Florida crap pick

IF Montreal picks 5th or 6th, I wouldn't be surprised to see Dvorsky become a Hab.

Future Danault with a little more offensive upside. Only, more likely to be satisfied as a 3rd line C, something Danault wasn't excited about as a possibility.

Regardless, I see St-Louis rolling out an undefined top-9, with lines mattering less and less.

Dvorsky as Montreal,s pick leaves beck as a potential trade chip when trying to acquire Dubois (FLA pick + Beck + Harris).

C-line of Suzuki - Dubois - Dvosky - Evans (for now)

Caufield - Suzuki - Dach
Roy - Dubois - Anderson
Slafkovsky - Dvorsky - Mesar
RHP - Evans - Heineman

We need a PPG+ player not a 3rd line C.

Who would be that at 5th or 6th OA?

I'd rather get Fantilli, but the odds of that are weak. Bedard? Even weaker...

Smith? That could be interesting...

You should all top looking at the lines. A top-9 doesn't need to be a textbook #1, #2 and #3 line of yesteryear.

People should evolve from the lineups of the past...

The key is the tandems:

Caufield-Suzuki, maybe Dubois-Dach, Slafkovsky - Dvorsky, RHP-Heineman (Evans won't be here in a few years).

I just simmed the lottery 10 times
We got the 6th pick 6 times
2nd pick 2 times
5th pick 1 time
1st pick 1 time
I did it in the past 100 times and we only got 1st OA the first time at the 26th simulation and 2nd OA at 31st.

The odds are not in our favour, period.

I'll be happy to keep 5th OA and not drop.
