We need something:

A good stable goaltender (Kiprusoff maybe?) OR a top 3 defenseman who can play defense.

Kipursoff, and then sign Regher in the offseason.

Regehr sucks now. Plus him and Phaneuf hate each other.

We need a good right-handed, defensively stable top 3 guy who can log minutes.

Ironically, Francois Beauchemin would've been great here.

He played his best hockey under Carlyle and is great in a defensive system, the guy received lots of hate from Leaf fans but Ron Wilson's system did not fit him at all. Even when Beauch got traded back to Anaheim, Carlyle asked him "What's wrong Frankie?" when he saw that Beauch wasn't playing well at first. It took him a while to wash Ron Wilson out of him.

But, he's not going anywhere and he's not an option.

Robidas would've been a good option if he was 3 years younger, but he's not good anymore either.

Don't know who else is out there that we can actually afford really.

kipper would be nice, and if iggy's as in play as the rumours say he is, then imagine him with naz?..., ahah that may be highly unrealistic but whatevs, we do need someone to play with dion though, that isnt hurt

Yea i PVR'D this game and i'm so pissed. After bozak scored and reimer couldn't squeeze his glove i knew i was game over.

up 3-1 and lose??

Play like a boss in overtime and lose in a ****ING shootout.. God dammit i hate the shootout. It's ********. How points will the leafs give up from that. 10 minutes of overtime and keep ties in the game. **** shootouts seriously..

I don't even feel excited about winning in a shootout and losing makes my blood boil when you outplay the opposition most of the game.

Good game from Kadri, Kessel, Phaneuf etc.. GOALTENDING bringing us down.. how many 4-5 goal games have we had lately? islanders.. pens.. sabres.. etc etc would be nice to let up 0-2 goals for a few games. Save % and GAA tanking the last month after looking very good the first month and a half

All the hate for the shootout but if we won I'm sure everyone would love it. Still miles better than a tie.

And for those blaming Reimer for the shootout loss.....Wow.

Leaf Fans in this thread must have started watching the Leafs in the last 3 years...

3 points out of 4 in back to back games, rolling with basically 3 lines due to injuries, ejections and suspensions.

We took a point IN Buffalo, do you guys forget our all time record in Buffalo? Oh wait, forgot yall started watching the Leafs 3 years ago ;)

In all seriousness, Reimer was fine, and quite standard when compared to other Leaf goalies(even the greats) when they played in Buffalo.

Wow. Kingstonian84 messed up in quoting me. Here, I was thinking that when did I ever say I want Regher on Leafs? I had started to think of my subconscious taking me over.

Buffalo were beatable in their current state and we blew a 2 goal lead. Not over-reacting but this is a game we should have won given that we had control of it. We don't have any injury to any major player. Orr wasn't going to defend or score goals for us, and Lupul is serving a fully deserved suspension. That doesn't mean that a fan should lower the expectation. Oh, and Reimer is not looking confident these days.

fine? not so sure about that couple soft ones tonight specifically the 2-1 goal, gotta close his legs. AND the goal that tied the shootout CAN'T go in over his shoulder you get as much of that puck as he did it NEEDS to be stopped

When do games in Buffalo EVER go smoothly?

I'll take a point in Buffalo for the rest of my life if I could.

He's played more 60 mins games than #84 this year, yet he catches more criticism on this board.
Most who understand the game view Bozak as a top-six forward. That doesn't mean that he's Sidney Crosby. However, he would be a pretty decent #2C.

The problem here is that Grabovski, another top six player, would complement Kessel a lot better than Bozak. Frattin - who seems to be an effective finisher - would play a lot better with someone like Bozak who is a two-way C and a decent distributor. MacArthur could act as the primary coordinator of the line. It could be used as a shut down line and Frattin could represent a major threat to the opposition.

JVR and Kessel need to be able to attack a lot more effectively. We need to keep the puck in the opposition zone. Kadri can't be expected to carry us, we need a sustained effort from all lines. For that reason, we slot Grabovski up there and let him be feisty. Kessel and JVR will never play mean.

I missed this game. I saw the Leaf goals on youtube but I also saw the scores of 1-0, 2-0, 3-1, 4-4 on each goal so what the **** happened? Who do I blame? WHO?

I hated it at first but I have to admit it's grown on me. People say it takes the team aspect out of a win but a lot of times games are decided by an individual anyways. Always interesting to see who's got the mental game to bury a breakaway a spotlight on and the game on the line.

I like the shootout, but I like overtimes better. It was a guy on some panel who suggested switching ends of the ice during overtime for longer changes which will increase chances. I also like the idea of extending overtime for another 5 minutes, whether it is 4-4 or 3-3 I don't really care. 3-3 would be crazy for odd man rushes, I think it would be more exciting than a shootout personally.

I've seen a 3 on 3 in OT before, I can't remember the teams I think it was Florida and Carolina, and it SUCKED. Now yeah it's 2 south east teams but it was 1 forward and 2 defenders and it was so boring as the forward would lose possesion at the blue line and that was it no one was able to get anything going.

If you're going to extend overtime why mess with it beyond extending the time? 4 on 4 is entertaining as hell, after 10 minutes of OT on 4 on 4 I bet you'd see a goal more often then not.

Leafs would be on a 4 game win streak if they had won all their coin flips - because that's what the shootout is. A damn coin flip.

Pretty much. Hated the idea since it came out.

Why are ties frowned upon?

Just leave it at 1 point each at the end of OT
