Watched last night's Ducks/Sharks game which was very entertaining with a good flow and tempo.

Then I see the polar opposite of that tonight with two of the most boring team's in the league.

That was appalling all around. Can't say anyone had a good game. Can blame the players all you want, but I maintain when everyone looks like **** it's the coaching. Yeah yeah you can't just give rah rah speeches to fire people up every night or really force people to prepare but it's the same old thing every time we play a team low in the standings. How can you get so far up for Nashville and so far down for Carolina, Buffalo, Vancouver, and so on?

We looked bored, perhaps we need a kid like kempe up to bring a bit of youthful exuberance.

For as much as we were wringing Kopitar earlier, Drew had a great look at the end and missed completely. He played a good game otherwise though.

Why would you give him even a game when Mersch has played much better and is more deserving.

I was more interested in bringing in youthful excitement than anything, lighten the room a bit, distract Kopi from wallowing in self pity :). I dont mind who, if mersch is more ready, so be it, i'll bow to the wisdom of reign followers. I think kempe seems like a better option for the uneducated because of his speed and draft pedigree.

Mersch isn't exactly young. He's the same age as Toffoli and Pearson.

Fourth game this season the Kings played an awful game after a three day break. Last three times they won the game after that awful game. Let's see how they respond tomorrow.

Non-EN/OT/SO goals in 20 road games:
41 GF, 2.05 per game
41 GA, 2.05 per game

The offense let down the CF% champs again in a 2-1 road regulation loss, to one of the few teams with a worse overall regulation record than the Kings. If the game started half way through the 2nd period or so, they would've been fine. Now 5-10-5 on the road in regulation.

Thankfully 3v3 OT exists, and that they've been quite exceptional at it. Take out the OT/SO point for every team, and they have the 24th best regulation record in the league, and sit 11th in the West.

5v5 scoring:
Purcell - 12GP, 0G, 2A
Gaborik - 13GP, 0G, 2A

An inefficient cap situation, and an OT-inflated record. That's a fun combo.

Lol there was a game last night? Sounds like i didn't miss anything.

The team was as surprised as you were.

The two games against Vancouver this year haven't been great efforts. Lose a 3-0 lead at home, only to win in the SO, and then a less than stellar performance last night. I guess we're not not used to games like that. They had them back in 2012 and 2014 too. Every team will have those nights. It's a grind.
