Kings have some hard luck but play mediocre most of the season putting a playoff birth in jeopardy and making even the most optimistic fan have doubts.

Kings go on a strong win streak to reach 3rd in the division.

Lombardi trades for Sekera to reward the players and strengthen playoff hopes.

Kings need the Sharks to win, so they fall out of a playoff spot and stop coasting. They started coasting when they got into contention again.

Nah. I'm almost certain that 8 game streak was a lot of smoke and mirrors at this point.

This is a one line team. That's far too evident now. When Toffoli and Carter are going like gangbusters, we're winning. It's that simple.

Defense is middle of the road. Goaltending is middle of the road. In years past, we were better than our record indicated. We were never a "wildcard team." This year, we're very much in that category, in all areas. We are absolutely as good as our record indicates according to every major statistic. In fact, if we would have won a number of those shootouts, we'd be worse than our record would indicate.

That Sekera trade looking like an absolute bust right now as far as I'm concerned. What is his role here? I don't think Sutter even knows.
