and he's a perfect 3rd liner with some occasional 2nd line upside

but this guy is heart and soul, grinder, hits, plays a heavy game, causes penalties...a lot of intangibles but he hasn't been a problem this year

you've just described Trevor Lewis, Dwight King and Kyle Clifford. Dustin Brown is a problem when he's making first line money and can't outscore "grinders".
