This is not a rivalry night game. Those are Wed nights.
This game is just one of the unfortunate prices to pay having won the cup. And since they setup the schedule early in the year they expected the Avs to be good again. And get a match-up between 2 contending teams.

Yep they can have the 12 game max as long as we win the cup. And those games aren't mostly against San Jose where they use their announcers because of the NBC/Comcast connection.
