Now seriously...SERIOUSLY...let's win this game. I don't care how at this point. Off the netting, coloumbs-time, triple deflection off two defensemen. Don't care, just get 2 points.
 
reto berra sucks. LA needs to pepper him like they have Price and MAF the last two games.
Stupid Vancouver beating the ducks last night.

If Reto Berra truly sucks, then we are screwed.

This "make the backup or 3rd goalie famous" syndrome has seemingly been a part of the Kings makeup for their entire history, but the team has taken it to a whole new level this season. I went to a game earlier this season where the Flames were pitching a 3rd (can't even remember his name) and he kicked our ass the entire game. That Hamburgler game was brutal (but then again, he did that to everyone).

It must be in team psyche by now. Maybe they hold their sticks tighter when a backup is in goal. I don't know.

Thank God we only face starters in the playoffs. :)

I wonder if our crap luck against backup/rookie goalies is due to not being familiar with them at all, so our shooters don't know their tendencies and how to abuse them. It is something that the Kings needs to get a handle of though because it's ridiculous.

Ortio is a lot better than berra. Ortio made Berra expendable for the flames. Also when Ortio was up he played so well that it is believed the flames were trying to move out Ramo to make room for Ortio with the big club, but then he got injured. He is seen as the future in net for the flames.
Berra truly is god awful, the fact the avalanche overpaid so much to get his is laughable. was the biggest fleecing of last years deadline (IMO more than gaborik because at least Columbus received some value for him)

I'm sure that's the reason. So what do you do? Simplify your game. If you don't know what a goaltender is all about, start with the 5 hole. If that doesn't work, go upstairs; into the corners, etc. This should all be in the game plan going into the game. All the players need to be on the same page.

Pickard may start also, but the impression I got was that if Varlamov couldn't go, they were going with Berra because they have not been happy with Pickard's play.

at the end of the day it should not matter who is in net. LA needs to play their game and stop crapping the bed on the road
 
damn i'm really not feeling this game tonight... something about Colarado... their team is better than what their record indicates and Varlamov/Berra are tough goalies to beat...30 shot + needed and Quick better stop those 18 coming our way

also, put some youth on that third line brother! Shore is ready
 
Erik Johnson is still recovering from a knee scope; someone let me know but actually I knew that but ran out of room in the injuries panel.

It goes back to the LA @ TB thread some time ago when there were a bunch of random pics/gifs in the GDT. I threw one in of Berryman and since then I have put one in during almost every GDT.

I only recall one loss when posting it. It was the sole reason for the 8 game win streak. :sarcasm:

Anyhow..GO Kings GO!!

Pickard is indeed starting for the Avs tonight.

I'm really not sure where you got that impression. Berra's been awful and hasn't gotten a start since November, while Pickard's been solid in both the NHL and the minors.
