Los Angeles Kings and GM Rob Blake part ways

Blake should've given LA more ammo than just Kuzmenko at deadline.
Imagine if he loaded up a bit more with let's say a Carlo on D and someone like Pageau up front.

I think Lombardi felt he was overworked to the point of no return with LA and he had finally gotten over the career hill so he just chilled out.
Also, he won two Cups, so there wasn't anything more to achieve than to just do it again, and the chances of that were slim, so why bother? I think that it's like how James Cameron didn't direct for over a decade after Titanic and, instead, did other things.

Yeah I guess he must just not want that job anymore because of all the retreads, he has the best resume, seems odd that no one would go for him.

I could add that the team we beat in that more recent win is t he team that's beat y'all 4 years running

How can we ever recover from this burn

"you've lost in the playoffs four times in a row while we've lost the draft lottery four times in a row haha owned"

come on man we both suck, you don't have to try so hard

So much promise of a great King’s future completely destroyed by Blake’s pursuit of an average present.

Mike Futa was asked on X yesterday if he would throw his hat into the ring for the job and his response was:

As Co-Director of Scouting, he was involved in building the Kings' Cup-winning teams, but hasn't been with the organization since 2020, so he has the credentials and organizational connection while having nothing to do with the current issues that Blake and Robitaille are responsible for. He would probably be my pick, and John Hoven speculated that Lombardi might be willing to act as his senior advisor, which would be even better.

I'm not trying hard at all. Just going for the low hanging fruit.

Where's the "Hiller fired" announcement?

Happy to see that the "Mayor"'s announcement that Blake & Hiller are staying was full of **** halfways at least. Waiting for the other shoe to drop!
Probably addressed in the thread already, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was like with Pittsburgh several years back where everyone though Bylsma was gone, but they fired Shero, and then the new GM immediately fired Bylsma.

I think when he had more energy and more importantly, spirit and the roster he built, he was ready to keep going. But I'm sure the two Cups after the fact gave a lot of people around him the excuse to, why bother, you're already the a 2 time etching.

Bergevin can trade, he can’t draft and develope to save his life. Bergy likely kissing luc’s butt trying to be all buddy buddy and have that French connection to weasel his way back into the GM game. Bergy is a con artist luc, dont fall for it.
