Seriously though, could you imagine Quick and Jones in goal at the same time? Hello 0.00 GAA.
I like where you're going with this...
So
McNabb/Doughty
Regehr/Martinez
??????/Greene
PK, Regehr/Doughty, Martinez/Greene.... good opportunity in an UFA year for Martinez.
On the Plus side Martinez is going to get a shot to show he's a top 4 D...
If it's bad enough guess we could just start the McDavid vs Eichel thread.(this is a joke... do not overreact)
I know it doesn't really matter this early in the season, but NHL.com has us listed 2nd, and San Jose 3rd. According to the tie-breaking procedures, shouldn't we be 3rd behind San Jose? We have identical games played and identical records, as well as 3 ROW's each. The next tie-breaker is points earned between clubs, and the Sharks have that. Am I missing something? Some weird technicality or something?![]()

I agree think that'll be the D for this game. I imagine Lewis will be LTIR back to his first missed game and Schultz/Bodnarchuk/Forbert will be the ??????.
And to expand the PP units will be Doughty - Martinez, Stoll - McNabb
In my humble opinion I don't think putting a rookie back on the point with a forward is ideal. Personally I would keep Doughty and McNabb together since that's the even strength pairing making it easier to manage the pairings and I think Richards would play point with Martinez on the 2nd unit.

Voynov, who is in his fourth season with the Kings, will be paid during the investigation and his salary will continue to count against the salary cap, limiting moves the Kings can make because they are close to the cap's ceiling. They are expected to know more about the status of injured defenseman Jake Muzzin, who has been out since the preseason, by Wednesday. One team executive said later on Monday that he did not anticipate any roster changes.
http://lakingsinsider.com/2014/10/21/options-in-wake-of-voynov-situation/Should Jake Muzzin be able to play on Thursday, the Kings would be able to once again utilize their 20 available players. Muzzin’s X-ray was moved up to Wednesday, and if he is given a clean bill of health, he could slide back into the lineup. It was expected that Muzzin, who suffered an upper-body injury in the second-to-final preseason game, would miss roughly three weeks of action; Thursday’s game is three weeks since his injury occurred.
Should Muzzin not be able to play on Thursday, the Kings have two options: place a player on Long Term Injured Reserve, or play with 12 forwards and five defensemen and then apply for an emergency roster call-up. The former is more likely than the latter.
Should LTIR be utilized, Trevor Lewis would probably be the target. With his $1.525M average annual value not counting towards the salary cap, the Kings would have the space to recall a defenseman from AHL-Manchester. Given that 28-year-old Jeff Schultz ($850K) has greater experience and has played in the playoffs with the Kings, it’s safe to say he’d be amongst the first names considered. Though flexibility is afforded to teams that place players on long-term injured reserve, teams must first deem that the player “will be unfit to play” for at least 24 calendar days and 10 regular season games, per the CBA. Should LTIR be used, Lewis would be eligible to return on November 2 at Carolina, as his placement on IR is retroactive to October 8.
The Kings can’t simply call a player up, as they don’t have the cap space for the minimum $550K salary.
As noted, the situation becomes moot should Muzzin not suffer any setbacks and be able to play on Thursday against Buffalo.
Can the Kings place Lewis on LTIR retroactive to when he got hurt on Oct. 8th? If so, that would have him eligible to return for the Nov. 2nd game verse Carolina, if he's even healthy then. It would also free up the cap space to recall any defenseman from Manchester. If that's possible, that's the move to make.

Kings lines this morning… 74-11-23 / 70-77-73 / 15-28-14 / 13-10-71. Muzzin out there with other 5 defenseman. No additions
I get that Sutter is frustrated because only the Carter line is producing but that scramble of the other 3 doesn't make them better. Although vs Buffalo it might be a bit better. I know he wants to get Kopi moving, then why not leave JW there and reunite that line, who've played together for years. Don't like lines 3 and 4 at all.

Trevor Lewis on the ice for Kings before practice, skating/shooting. Perhaps the first time since his injury (that we know of, anyway).

Jake Muzzin said he was optimistic about playing Thursday but wouldn’t take a risk just because of Voynov’s absence.
That's a good sign, even if not Thursday soon.
I'm going to hold off putting Muzzin there until we hear something official. His follow-up X-ray was scheduled for Thursday; apparently it was moved up to tomorrow.
Is Gaborik skating yet? When will he return to the lineup?
I'm still reluctant to believe the Kings would be comfortable going on a 5 games in 8 nights road trip (if that's what it is--forget offhand) with only the exact number of people that can play. Something's gotta give.
