He's going to be younger than other UFA's who signed today when their respective deals are done. I like this deal a lot more than a lot of others I see on the ticker. Even comparing him to Troy Brouwer- Lucic is absolutely worth 1.5 Mil per season more.

Wait till October, but I believe a lot of the value Lucic brings will be how he enables McDavid to go "supersonic gin and tonic" as the kids say. Well, kids and Bob Stauffer.

It's a way for players to still get paid something if there is a strike and help budget teams a little bit.

Lucic is the best of all those players and got paid the same.

I think Ladd also got signed for 7 years at 5.5 or 6. Now that's bad.

Okposo is currently the better player. Certainly the better producer. Lucic has the intangibles but some good and bad with that.

The kids;), Oasis, said that decades ago and aren't kids anymore except if compared to the who. You must be older like me. ;)

It's the 10-15 extra points he will enable McDavid to pot with those intangibles you speak of that bring even more value IMO.

Lucic is also better defensively.
I know +/- is an odd stat but he was top 10 last year in it.

Disagree. Okposo has the consistency of Eberle; if the Oilers had signed him, most Oil fans would be calling for his head by about mid-season.

Rishaug has already said the trade and the signing have nothing to do with each other.
Like that is stopping people from posting Looch + Larsson >>> Hall.
They are obviously related. Why are you so adamant in telling others how to think?

Lucic as a Bruin would be one of the more surreal things I'd ever seen. Does that mean he takes back all the vitriol to forum fans, the Habs, their all gutless pukes, and so on.

Wow, there was MASSIVE bad blood between the habs/Bruins with Lucic front center in that.

tbh I think that would be a travesty for habs fans. how do hate a player, then love him. its not something I have in my dna. If I hate a player I hate a player, doesn't change much.

Maybe the insiders happen to know things we don't. ;) It's shocking but maybe Rishaug actually knows a thing or two.

I don't think those things necessarily equate to being better than Hall but at the same time a better defense = better Oilers.

Im thinking of him giving guys lessons on how to fight just so they get more confident standing up for themselves and others. ITs something some of those players might be waiting for a guy to show them. Honestly i think some of our team WOULD fight but have no confidence to do it. Lucic can show them

Also i think Looch will be good to work with Drais and improve his cycle even more. They dont have to be on the same line. practice and dressing room its going to be a big factor

he is now a leader on the oilers, a mentor. Chia, like the Godfather, tells him "this is your family now"

hard to argue with Okposos last few seasons. he's a better producer than Lucic at this point and no doubt about that.

Lucic was interviewed on TSN and he said it would have been a little weird playing for Montreal. I wouldn't be surprised if the years of bitter rivalry swayed him away a bit from Montreal.

Kassian?

There was a moment after the PK trade where i thought Montreal would definitely need to trade PK to get Looch. There is NO WAY Lucic signs with MTL if PK is there.

As much s**t as Rishaug gets, he actually pulls through on some things. Personally, I don't get the hate for him. I tune in every day at 8:30 if I can, love his insight. Anyways LUCIC :yo::yo:

I think part of it is Yakupov and part of it the fans hating anything and everything associating with the Oilers. That's what a decade of losing will do to you.

LA owns the ice. They own the puck. From line to line. If you want a great +/- its a great place to be. just saying.

I watched Lucic this past season probably more than most as I'm a huge Kings fan (after oilers) and theres good and bad. Some really off moments, punching a lineman, getting suspended, some really bad penalties costing games. But Luc added to their offense and offset the Williams loss. Lucic last year however was off. I gotta say that. He was less composed than even in Boston. That would be a little worrisome. This is a player that the NHL is watching closely right now that would be repeat offender. A likely repeat offender as well.

And if you just look at the numbers, Eberle is a fantastic producer and you'd wonder why a lot of Oil fans are consistently calling for him to be traded.

hes done some things in the past that i have hated but also he asked questions which needed to be asked when others refused. He does his job...i just hate when he editorializes
