I did a trip from Minnesota to Arkansas then to New Orleans then to Texas then to Colorado and then back home to Minnesota. I think it ended up being around 3,500 miles or so. But I'm 6'6 240 so I can drive the ball that far quite easily.

Visiting a friend at West Virginia University in a couple weeks and I'm likely gonna do the drive solo. Will be by far the longest trip I made with no one else in the car.

hbu? And what precautions should be taken when making any sort of road trip on your lonesome?

edit: I ask because anxiety.

Know roughly how far your vehicle can go before needing to fuel.

Plain your route ahead. Heck plan gas stops/food stops/pee breaks

Know your bladder

Get a good sleep before you start driving.

Honestly I've driven 12+ a few times in my life. I recommend these

Have sun glasses!

Raleigh to Savannah, GA and back. About 5 hours.

I-95 throughout the Carolinas is pretty dull. There's no major cities that reside along this route. The only two things of note are:

1. Crossing Lake Marion in SC (meh, but it breaks up the monotony)

2. The tourist trap known as 'South of the Border'. You've probably seen the billboards if you live along I-95, apparently they advertise up into New Jersey and probably New England at one time. It's nothing to write home about but it does give travelers these billboards to look at.

4 hour drive that was 6 hours due to traffic.

If you get tired, pull over. It's not worth it to drive while tired.

I just drove from Edmonton to Windsor and back, all through Canada. One way is about 38 hours total driving and 3750km distance.

St. Louis to Naples Florida, in a big-ass moving truck, towing a car...with two cats and a dog riding shot-gun. Took 20 hours simply due to dog-breaks, fill-ups and the truck topping out at 72 mph. Long ass drive. Would not recommend.

longest i've done is atlanta to chicago when i was broke and still in college. think the longest it ever took was about 13 hours.

these days the longest i'll go is about 5 hours, anything beyond that and i'm flying. and if it's too expensive for it being a short flight vs a 6-7 hour drive, then i'm just not going to that place.

Huh I always thought Chicago and Atlanta were further apart but there isn't much latitude between them actually.

Las Vegas to Lake Tahoe.

From my place to your place. Way too far. :(

you're like 6-6 and 140 pounds and built like a girl.

not a ****ing chance in hell you can drive a ball that far.

Wat. In highschool I was 6'0 125/130 pounds and could bomb a football farther than most of the other guys. It's all about technique and practice, I'm sure it's similar to Golf in that way.
