London Knights 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part VII

Whammo! Memorial Cup Champions!
A special team, proud of the boys.
A team effort, but a shoutout to some incredibly talented kids, the nucleus...Dickinson, Bonk, Barkey and Cowan. It could be awhile before we see such dynamic duos (on the backend and up front) in the green and gold. The coaching staff was outstanding; the players bought into the system, and executed it flawlessly.
Elliott saved his best hockey for the Memorial Cup.
That's 6 OHL Championships and 3 Memorial Cups in 20 years...not bad!
To all the players who won't be returning next season, wish them all the best.
I think it's no secret that Dickinson is my favourite player followed by Cowan (from Mrs. Nelli's home town, Mount Brydges).

Hedon rating: 3 + 7 = 10/10

Denver Barkey will be greatly missed. Everything he did on and off the ice was absolutely incredible. He is such a good kid. Not sure if anyone noticed but he could have taken the cup anywhere on the ice for the team picture but he chose to take it in the corner where a bunch of knights fans were. Super cool of him to do that.

6/19 OHL Championships. 3/19 Memorial Cup Championships. Have blown by rivals Windsor and Kitchener in OHL titles and passed Kitchener in Memorial Cup titles. Tied with Windsor now in Memorial Cups. Although London never won with sanctions to pay or a back door first round exit. All Memorial Cups came with a league title. The way it should be.

Hoping for the best for the CHL with the NCAA pillaging talent left and right.

I have run my mouth a lot the last few months but truly don’t have anything against anyone or their teams. I am concerned about the CHL with the NCAA doing what they’re doing and truly hope for the best for the CHL. Very classy messages in this forum tonight and any troglodytes, I’ve already ignored. Rimouski did a great job as hosts and were apparently very welcoming to all visitors. Could not say all of Saginaw was welcoming last year, but most were.

If this is an end of an era, it is a good way for it to end for London. I was especially proud of all the character kids on this team. From Barkey’s work in the community, to Boulton and Fagan II celebrating goals with a down syndrome fan up in 312 when scratched, I actually believe these are good human beings which doesn’t always happen with athletes. I wish them all the best in their future endeavours and am so happy they have two OHL Championships and a Memorial Cup Championship!

And Dale has to be a shoe-in for the hall of fame. I cannot overstate how impactful he has been to this organization since 2000.

I don’t think we should host, 2014 still too soon. That sucked.

I will be in Kelowna next year for the cup, you never know….. still lots of talent on the team and could add three imports….?

As these players are being removed from the game, we might as well enjoy these kinds of images. It is evident that the last of their kind will soon be reached when players and teams are fined for simply gazing at each other over the centre line during warm-ups. Retain it; it may be worth something in the future.
