London Knights 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part VII

If Gibson is playing in game 5 after the Woolley suspension last round one has to question the integrity of the league. It was a dirty play from a repeat offender of the same infraction. Anything less than a suspension validates Knights fans that the league has a double standard based on team the offending player is on and the team the receiving player is on. Not a good look for the OHL.

I think that was validated last game with Sennecke only receiving a 2 minute minor. As far as I know, Woolley had no previous major penalty or supplemental discipline before last round. I really hate that officiating / league discipline has taken over the discussion points on what should have been a 16-0 playoff run, but that’s on the OHL. Dale has the right attitude. No need to send videos to the league and cry like that other blue and red team. They have the footage. Just play the game and control what you can control. Hope Sim is back for game 5!

Yeah Matt you keep saying this stuff about Dickinson be scratched for Spencer now your all over Cowan like take away there points this season and see where the knights would be No players perfect everybody makes mistakes. And sometimes there made in trying to put your team on your back and doing it all for a win
The fact that these kids are just that kids. Shit I am 72 and make mistakes everyday. If you don’t believe me ask my wife.

Even as London Knights fans, we can to take notice what is coming up the ranks of opposition teams. I hope you have all token notice of this tall, lanky 16-yr old defender from the Generals "Simon Wang". Watch this kid, he's going to be a good one, reminds me so much of former Pete's and NHLer Chris Pronger at 16 yrs old

Despite Mac Nichol officiating last night's playoff game final with numerous penalties, the calls were equally fair/unfair to both teams. On the ice, as it should be, talent and skills should determine which team has the superiority.
Would agree with the exception of Gibson's knee on Sim. Basically the exact same play as Wooley's knee for which he received 5 and a game plus 1 game suspension. Hopefully the Knights can lock this down tomorrow night at home. I will be there. If they can get past Oshawa Hopefully Barkey will be healthy enough to participate in the Memorial Cup.

Everyone keeps telling me no, but I still think we see Barkey Thursday in a limited role. Especially if Sim is unable to play!

Oh, I agree too, but if we were to go ask Generals fans, they would find things that we think were okay non-calls

Was at last night's game...as a fan with no skin in the game I must say London is a dominant team, top 3 maybe 2 of all London teams. It is going to take a hellbof a team to stop them at the Memorial Cup. But I gotta ask...what in the hell is #11 on this team for?? Just my opinion but your first rounder should gain alot of experience with that roster spot.

I made a gif. Enjoy 9tyys4.gif

He helps keep the goons away from top players. You won't see it too much in these situations, but when games get out of hand and other teams start taking runs at Barkey, Cowan, Bonk etc....they know they will have Ryder to deal with.

I hope not, no need to at this point. High ankle sprains inevitably get tweaked upon return resulting in a set back. Two steps forward, one step backwards. Best they can do at this point is manage the injury until seasons end.

Fair question. Boulton is stuck on the 4th line and gets few shifts, few minutes per game. In the playoffs, he hardly sees the ice, and that's my preference. His role is limited mostly to "enforcement", the "tough guy" persona/act, and the players seem to like him and appreciate the passion he brings. You have to have a couple of players in the lineup who add toughness.

Dale1000, rightfully, in disbelief. Classic Dale expression. But I miss the glasses and fishing ones from back in the day.

As for Boulton, as long as hockey still has cheapshots occurring, you’ll see a player like that on Dale’s team 10/10 times. An insurance policy, so to speak.

Glue. Simple answer is, he is a glue guy, brings toughness and allows his teammates to play bigger. The best hockey teams aren't made up the most skilled 18 players, it doesn't work like that. You need guys who fill roles and can play in certain situations. That is one thing the Hunter's have always been good at, identifying a small particular area of need on a team and addressing it.
