London Knights 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part VII

That is surprising, because I feel Oshawa is much stronger than the 2023 Petes that beat you in the Final. I would have thought losing that series would be a bigger under achievement.
London played that final with a 16 y/o goalie and a goalie who had just played the Sutherland Cup finals and that was year one of essentially the core of this team. I wouldn't call that outcome an underachievement

I have stayed out of the Knights board because it's not my team here as you guys beat up inna clean 4 games. However if you all want to complain about refs go ahead, it's your right. All I have to say is that for a team that was the 3rd most penalized in the regular season you guys sure seemed shocked when you actually get called for a large amount of penalties compared to another team who was not penalized as much in the regular season.

Over the course of the regular season you had roughly 130 more penalty minutes then the Gens, so don't act surprised when you still get penalized more than them (9 penalties may be a lot but even if it was 6 it still would be justified).
Hey I agree but really Sim gets diving after being crosschecked in the face …. That was just wrong

I was thinking the same thing. How is a crosscheck to the head embellished. I actually thought there was a chance for a 5 minute call on that one. Monteys trip in a normal game is a penalty but in this game, it would automatically be a trip plus embellishment to even up the call they didn't want to call. Just like Cowan getting a goalie interference penalty just because he was pushed into the goalie after stopping in front of goalie.
Ya your absolutely right we have seen that before we get the dive penalty after a trip

Sennecke will be in the running for an Oscar after last night.

Watching that play live, I was confused as to how Wolley got a roughing penalty, on the replay I am still confused. Sennecke fell trying to shoot the puck, then when he fell Wolley got tangled up and fell with him, then they both went into the boards because of said fall .... didn't see anything egregious from Wolley after the fact.
The reply I saw was Woolley frustrated cause sentence was using his legs to hold up Woolley

Haven't used my season seat in a few months, what food pop ups do they have currently. Not the concession garbage lol

Not the answer you're looking for, but on the main concourse the only regular concessions are at the very far end by the walkway to the dressing room. Everything else is self serve. That one will be changing to self serve also. The one by section 111/112 is closed for renovations

TY. Market it is.

Oshawa defends very well. Refs a non factor as they should be. London will need to create some offence somehow.
They are making it very hard to get shots through and taking away the lanes. They are playing better tonight. Knights look a bit flat but that's also due to the good defensive game Oshawa is playing tonight.

Stick side on Oster is where they need to shoot at, this Easton Cowan goal was high corner stick side

Note; Dickinson looks really nervous out there tonight, I hope they'll talk to him to calm him down, Knights needs him to play his game. He seems to over rushing his plays causing many little mental mistakes

Obviously nobody can question the world’s greatest coach, but…..wtf is Hunter doing? So all playoffs, giving shifts to the 4th line creates a physical presence, gets guys looking over their shoulders and gives the 1st and 2nd line more rest time. This has worked all playoffs.
For some reason, they now get barely any shifts which tires out your scoring lines quicker and there is very little physicality.
Did the Knights get blown out 10-1 game one and it was the 4th line to blame for all the goals? Is that why the change? I was sure that I saw the game and that didn’t happen.
Knights strength this season has been their depth. But sure, shorten the bench. It worked so well during the memorial cup last year. Also worked well in Shawinigan. Got lucky in 16-17 as it took OT to get the cup.
I whole heartedly disagree with what’s happening right now. If the Knights end up in the memorial cup they’ll get smoked by Moncton rolling 2.5 lines.
Gotta get there first.

You watching Van Gorp? More than a few players handling the puck like a grenade.

4th line won't win games either. Gotta be careful with boulton as he can take bad penalties ( sam goes for sim but he can score). There's a reason why the 4th line doesn't get many shifts

The TV time outs give the top lines more rest than the other rounds. This isn't anything new. Also, given the penalty last game it's probably better that the 4th line gets limited time.

doesn’t feel like a 4-2 game. Oster wants at least one of those back. Rare PP advantage 3-1 through two which will very likely change next period.

I like Read being played more. I’d scratch Boulton for Aboflan next game but with tv timeouts, you’re splitting hairs at that point.

I’m more concerned about the dismal PP and refusal to roll a second unit out there without Barkey.
