London Knights 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part VII

Rags coach should officially change the first letter of his first name to 'P'
He really is negative when his team loses and never accepts any responsibility but always seems to blame outside forces like his team is a victim of wrongdoing. Maybe say we gave a good effort and came up short. Our opponent is a good team. But no there is always an excuse when they lose. You lost because the other team played better than your team. And there is no shame in that.

That org has been crying about the Knights since Dale dominated DeBoer in 05. Now I see why they like Jussi so much. Nice hair though.

The team absolutely loves him, and that's what matters.

Gee that’s funny. After every loss, Jussi says, “We weren’t good enough. We have to be better”.
And he’s said that London is a good team.

….and, IMO, London is a very good team. But they haven’t been tested yet.

Their opponents in the first two rounds sold off at the deadline.
The Rangers sold early then stood pat.

London won’t get tested by a team geared up to go all in this year, until the final. And both Barrie and Oshawa went all in big time this year.

The Knights may breeze their way to the final, but what’ll be waiting for them in an opponent will be a whole different animal.

Could not have said it better myself. For Jussi, when they win it's "we", when they lose it's "they". You don't see that from Hunter. This type of coaching will wear thin pretty quickly when the players realize that he only takes responsibility when they win and throws the team under the bus when they lose.

I am so done with the "rebuilding" Rangers narrative that gets thrown around every time they lose. They were a 100 point team in the OHL and had high hopes going into the playoffs. When they went down 3-0 the Rangers board kept using the "rebuilding" exuse, all of the sudden the series is 3-3 and the talk goes to how good the team is again. It just seems that it is way to convienent to constantly lean back on that excuse.

FWIW I think Oshawa will win the east and be a huge handful for the Knight. They've been inconsistent during the regular season but have been less so in the playoffs and when they're firing on all cylinders they are a very good team. They could very well beat the Knights this year, and they're motivated after last year.

In the end it may turn out, and probably will end-up as you say for the London Knights, but this is playoffs hockey. It's a new season and now a new series is started. The biggest mistake any team can make in these times, is to think they have 90% chance of winning a game that two teams have equal crack at winning it. Best throw everything about the regular season out the window, it don't count anymore, that season is long gone and all the stats with it, they have to create new ones. This playoffs series is a brand new short season, Erie and Owen Sound are long gone too, other new stats are to be made by both teams. Cheers!
Your a Math guy yes 50% chance same chance Owen Sound had against us in 7 game series. My number 2% chance. The point i was making with Barkey out odds are way down on winning Mem Cup...although reports have Barkey not as bad as first thought.

Sundays game saw several players have above average games. Nurmi, Julien and Allen stepped it up and Montgomery is dangerous and hard to knock off the puck. Getting into fights cost us the lead in the second but depth came through. Penalty kill and Power play missed Barkey. I would get Hawery into the game tonight for Van Bommel ...use our depth!!

More freebies than any other CHL team with the NCAA ruling earlier in the season as well. I tried to explain to Billyjack last year that they weren’t a rebuilding team when they made a buy move for Sale. I don’t think this year was a rebuilding year either. It started that way with Rehkopf being dealt, but it didn’t finish that way at the deadline.

Absolutely agree, it is just what they say when they need to feel good about themselves after a loss. They do have some talented young players I do not think we can deny that, they just seem to be lacking those "playoff" type players. Something that a guy like Misaljevic could add for them, I can only assume that he is hurt?
