London Knights 2024-25 Season Thread, Part VI

Will this year, Knight's 9th RD pick, is he the sleeper of this year's batch, I wonder.

Reid Harper, as we read and go into his numbers, one point per game 29pts in 29 games and 34 minutes in the sin-box for the regular season. And then we look at his playoffs' performance for the 10 games, he went 3g 4a with 20mi of sin-box sitting. It is his sin-box that is intriguing, something that can be corrected, but it also shows he is very much implicated in his on ice actions. It is very interesting for the fact that he did this with a 6' 2" frame but only at 156lbs, what is he going to be like at 190, and if grows a couple inches? This reminds me of undrafted Josh Anderson when he first came to camp at 158lbs, there was a reason why Mark signed him

Where did u get the 158lb at camp for Anderson?
Now your stat gazing like you tell others not to with Harper?
Sorry couldn't resist but interested if you can offer up a #.
Andersons camp I attended 2 days and was also involved in minor hockey at the time so just curious where you got weight from.

I remember when Anderson was drafted as a very small forward by the charts. When he showed up for camp this huge hulk of a player showed up. He literally shot up since the draft about 20+ lbs and 5 or 6 inches. Hunters knew the family and they were all big people so he knew Josh would have a spurt of growth quickly. That is doing your homework.

I don't think Anderson was even drafted in the OHL, I'd have to look it up. He was small on his draft year and showed up a year later in London in his 17th year, his draft year, I do believe

I agree he was bigger than FP made up at camp as I was there, and just asked for a source to verify, as I've been wrong before and will again lol.
But 1 period into first scrimmage he had left a mark and we all chatted at the arena this FA was a lock to make it 30 min unto camp. Had a hatty early, 2 from the slot I think, n was a big kid.
And I dont think he was drafted by LK as you said, he was a FA invite IF I recall correctly. No one picked him draft year.
Yes they (LK) had eyes on him, but just my memory n too lazy to look it up but he was a FA in his OHL D+1 year. ( He n Horvat as 1st year players, with a 2nd yr Tierney wrre a great 4th line in that POs)

You might be right. I just remember when he did show up it was like a different player showed up. Not a little boy but a big man. Maybe it was his 17th year. Didn't look it up. The point was that Hunters do a great deal of research into their choices. Glad they work for our team. Truly blessed being a Knights fan

No worries. Yes it's been an unprecedendant, great 20+ yr run. Got my seasons late in '99.

Faist is a JOKE of a referee. A punch in the nuts is only 2:00 and Knights get 2 penalties and a third player given a misconduct? His bias is so obvious it’s embarrassing.
I really try not to comment on officiating but it’s been especially funky the last couple years. The series against Owen Sound was so one sided, it was laughable. Seems there is some “little man” energy by the stripes calling penalties on the big bad Hunters’ hockey team. Maybe O’Reilly called Faist a bad name. Lol.

Next game I would dress Aboflan, Spencer and Fagan. Scratch Reid, Fimis and Dickinson.
It’s not that Dickinson is not playing that well, he is a liability. Nevermind no offence….hes giving the puck away almost every other shift, no physicality….maybe something is wrong, he’s sick, he’s hurt, I don’t know but he is a shadow of his regular season self. It’s painful to watch.
And this series won’t go past 4 games. Erie can’t match the depth of London. Doesn’t it feel like London has another gear and yet games like this they’re up 5-2 after 2….and Erie is getting a bit of help from the refs too, still not enough.

Trying to even up the ante with a big club, are they?

Both penalties that Erie scored, were questionable. One for staring at a player by Bolton, the other for Montgomery standing in the blue paint behind Erliden. That unsportsmanlike Cnd to Barkey, he was actually playing the puck under the helmet before the whistle. Everybody makes mistakes, including the referees, somehow theirs seems to be easier made
