London Knights 2024-25 Season Thread, Part VI

Well Erie is beatable. Erliden is good but he’s gonna need to be great. But same could be said for Austin Elliott…

Knights already know that Erie’s speed is their strength. So playing defensively responsible is important and waiting for their chances cuz they will have some. Limiting odd man rushes unlike what London did against Owen Sound is key.

If Carey Terrance and Matthew Schaefer come back this series, it will be even more fun than anticipated.

Do you feel like Erie spent a lot of energy to win in Round 1?
 
Knights do need to be more disciplined this series. Eries PP is running at a 50% clip! Their PK is 78.3% so I do think they’ll regress to the mean, but Londons special teams are similar to reg season so I’d say they’ll regress stay similar.

Knights need to slow Erie down. Trap them and hopefully Londons offence overwhelms the Erie D

Saginaw had a real hard time stopping them because of Erie puck control unpredictability in the offensive zone. And yes, London will need to trap Erie, but not everywhere, it must be done before they have the chance to cross London's blue line, in the neutral zone. Where Montgomery and all his teammates excel at Dale's team system, force Erie to dump in and have our D to hurry and being first at retrieving the puck. London does that. London will win in 4. Enjoy the series.

...and Papineau found that stopping pucks from entering his net proved extremely difficult. Erie, on the other hand, has solid goaltending. Knights are a puck possession team and come in waves. I think we'll be ok if we respect the opponent, take one game at a time...(insert additional cliches).
