London Knights 2024-25 Season Thread, Part VI

I love what Montgomery brings, loads of energy and impossible to handle. He hasn’t hit the scoresheet but he is still incredibly effective in grinding down the opposition. Defensively still lots to learn but the week off will get some time in the video room.

I think he breaks out in the next series, mark my words!

He will break out in round 2. He is just getting warmed up!

A little surprised the Spirit were defeated so easily but their defensive play was horrendous.
Not having their starting goalie sunk them. They were always a run and gun team this year but with no decent tender to let them play that style, they really didn’t stand much chance. Erie played well too, Misiak had a good series for Erie.
Anyone know what the injury timeline is on Schaefer? Might we see him this series?

Not sure if Terrance and/or Schaefer returns. I watched tonight's game, rough, nasty...just like playoff hockey should be. #25 has words with Misiak as they lined up for handshake....refused to shake Misiak's hand (embellished a slash he received from #25 late in the game).
#25 likely headed for San Jose...action with Barracuda.

Erie has been on a high ever since they beat London in their last regular season game. Most teams seem to find motivation after beating London. Erie do have shooters in their lineup, and are missing two of their best as well. London will need to stay sharp defensively against Erie, we know the Knights can score, but in this series, keeping the puck out of their net will be important.

Beat them in all facets of the game

They beat a London team with 10 of their top players out of the lineup. They beat a Junior B team that game. But with that said motivation is motivation and it’s a good thing Owen Sound played the Knights hard so the team doesn’t take any opponent for granted. But again game 68 had 10 regulars out of the lineup.

Omg we get those idiot pair announcers and those inbred fans! Oh well hopefully we can do it in 4 so we only get to listen to them twice. Maybe I will turn off sound and listen to Stubbsie

It does not matter in the world of motivation. It could have been a full Junior C team dressed in London Knights jerseys, for all they care the result would have been the same if all London top players played. By beating a London Knights team, a spark lit up a big flame of positive thinking in all the minds of the Erie players. When you have 20 minds thinking the same, no matter how it got there, it can carry a team a long way. Not saying they are better than London, just that the Knights will likely face a well lubed team, if not careful.

There are some pretty decent Otter fans, but their hardcore extremist ones seemingly outnumber the sane ones. Back in the day, the Otters honoured their graduating overagers by dedicating a game to them individually When Cory Pecker's turn to be honoured came around, those fans responded by tossing dildos onto the ice.:lol:

Anyone have info on the schedule (specifically the start) of the next series?
I hear people saying Thursday but Friday / Sunday would make more sense. (I know it comes down to the arenas bookings etc).
Thanks in advance.

Let’s hope the boys are licking their chops at the opportunity to play Erie. Should be a fun series! They are more high octane than I expected
I watched the game last night. Erie looked big and fast and their goalie is solid. That said, I thought Saginaw looked sloppy most of the game, had little defensive structure to their game and at times seemed a bit disinterested. I think Erie will be a good test for London but I believe they showed better because of who they were playing.

Don’t worry about round 2. Erie won the first game of the regular season when Knights players were still away at NHL camps and Barkey had mono. The Knights then won the next 4 games. Then Erie won the last game with the Knights sitting out 10 players (YES 10) Erie won’t go away without a fight but they will go away. And we will (reluctantly) be singing Sweet Caroline. (I bet Neil Diamond is spinning in his grave how his song is being disrespected).
