Thanks for the update. Do you think he cracks the forward group next year? I had originally heard he had 1st round skill set, but injuries hampered him. Obviously if he’s close in skill to his brother then that would be a good sign

I am going to say no, and I fully expect him to be a guy shipped out in the summer. "Injury" aside it sounds as if he is a selfish prick and essentially went home on his own accord due to lack of playing time. That usually does not sit well with the Hunters so I can't see him being Knights property too long after the trade windows open back up. I imagine back to Ottawa, or Sudbury but just my own thoughts.

Also, will Sim and Boulton be suspended? If so we might get to see Hawery and Cover get some game action?

Is Aboflan still injured?

I understand that Allen’s court appearance is March 6th. Likely will get the ball rolling on the verdict and if he is coming back this season or not?
Court might take awhile. I would love to be wrong and see Allen back in a knights jersey but I'm not sure if I see it happening. If he does get banned from the OHL, would he be able to go to the ahl? If not he might have to go to europe

Aboflan still hurt, but could be back very soon providing what kind of pain he is willing to play through. As nice as it would be to have him in the lineup not a neccesity and hope he does what is best for his development.

I think alot is going to be determined on what is happening. But based on how well the London judicial system works, he will walk in plead guilty and walk out and wait another 2 years for an actual hearing.

Next year AHL is a yes, this year AHL is a no go. Europe is his only option, but good luck getting on a meaningful team over there as they start up playoffs in the coming weeks. Not too sure you can even sign at this point as in most Euro leagues you have to be on the team for "x" amount of days or games to even be playoff eligible.

The even crazier part is that he only started playing hockey at the age of 11 or 12. His potential is raw, but you could see even from his limited shifts with us that he oozes potential!
Absolutely! This summer will be crucial for him in his development. I would like to see him get into a few games just for him to see what he needs to work on to get to the OHL level.

I see him in a 3rd line role next year

Btw, I don’t care what people from Kitchenhole think - the biggest crybabies of SW Ontario.

Also, since the discussion was brought up, you absolutely need more from a 19 year old import who is drafted in the fourth round of the NHL. He could be a super checker, defensive wizard, whatever people want to advertise him as. You should be tearing this league up offensively, easily. You don’t use the import draft for marginal role players. There are an abundance of those in Canada.
Oh but careful, there are some that think guys like this are very valuable for the way they play along the boards (insert sarcasm font). You’ll get the happy clappers that say everyone belongs and offers various skillsets and we as fans should be spoiled and lucky to watch such a good team each year.
In all seriousness, even as a development league it’s still a business and championships bring in big money. Big value positions like overage and import should absolutely be filled by better players than 13 and 44. But alas, back to the clapping.

People are still speculating about Allen? Wow. Truth is nobody has a clue what will happen. You’ve got the incident that happened in the Q as a parallel to draw from, and then you’ve got what we all know about how slow the legal system is. But to place him in a Knights jersey, in Europe, in jail….whatever. You all don’t have a clue, so maybe stop throwing stuff at a wall, hoping it sticks so you can say “see I was right”. Just take your trophy now.
By the way, he’ll be back with the Knights this year….
(Sarcasm font again)

Allen made a mistake. A HUGE mistake. Luckily a mistake where no one was hurt Mistakes have consequences and the league will decide what the punishment will be and he will have to accept their decision. I am reminded of a song from my favourite artist “ I have been a sinner all my life and so has everyone I have ever known and you won’t be finding me casting that first stone”. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes. And we all deserve to atone for our mistakes.

There's been some talk that Budnick will be out with a suspension (nothing posted yet as I type this). If he's in the Brantford lineup tonight, he could have a target on his back from the game in Guelph. You'll recall that he roughed up Barkey, and Cowan stepped in, dropped the gloves... didn't fare too well.
Knights usually seek retribution when those sorts of things happen. We shall see if tonight is a nasty affair.
Assuming Meds gets the start...he needs a big game against a tough opponent.

He got 5 and a game for spearing vs. the Petes. The league has already (almost immediately) posted a suspension to McCallum from the same game.

Who knows if something extra is coming for Budnick before tonight.
