Look, I appreciate the effort Sloan and Doyle put in. They are passionate and close to the team.

I just think at this point there should be a changing of the guard and a competent set of new blood come to the fore.

It’s a Mickey Mouse operation and the glasses are low hanging fruit.

Kind of an asinine reason for making fun of someone who may have a medical issue.

But hey, they are always looking for volunteers Rogers tv - Home

Just curious, does anyone know exactly why Sloan is wearing these glasses? Or do they even care?

What exactly is it with people making jokes about someone's appearance? Does it make you feel cool?

If it makes you feel cool you should head over to the Ivy Eye Institute, you'll be able to laugh and point at people wearing a bunch of different types of glasses. As an added bonus, because it's located at St. Joe's, you might be able to harp on a few people in wheelchairs! AND, because it's close to downtown you can cross the homeless off your bucket list.
You usually wear yellow lenses if you are sensitive to bright light and glare. Many people wear them when driving at night.

My nomination for post of the year.

I dont know what was worse, Sudbury's play or Sloans glasses. Its a close call but I think Sloan wins lol

They aren't being worn for fashion. , Hope ya feel cool.

I'm not a fan of the quality of play by play, but I'll leave it there. No need to get personal.
It's a hard thing to do. and there is a reason there are so few excellent or even good ones in the O.

Impressive weekend. Contributions from everyone offensively, defensively and out scored the opposition 14-1. The team is really gelling at the right time. Really liked that coach Hunter played around with the lines yesterday too see what different line combinations could work.

Two top 4 goalies statistically. Perhaps it’s due to sharing the workload, but it’s so nice to have both of these guys. Very happy with how things have shaken out with our goalie tandem.

Knights can play a physical brand. Nice to see the Cowan hit and a few good hits by Halts. Both guys setting the tone.

I wonder if they go back to Abo and RVB in the next game vs Kit. Kitchener will be a good test.

Could we improved our overage players...maybe yes....but was it worth the cost. stacked team right now. We improved our defense depth which was important. Beating the Knights in a 7 game series can be done but very doubtful especially the way the Knights play on the road.

OHL site lists Covers hometown as Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. Would love to hear more about this. I’m sure stubbsy will do a great story on him and get a chance to hear how he got into hockey etc

I believe RVB is nursing an injury, that's why he hasn't been playing. Abo would be a good insert vs. Kitchener though.

I imagine Ryder is going to be suspended 3 games, 2 for the staged fight and 1 for exceeding fight limit.

Yes, Oshawa has a very good team. However, Windsor was missing Protas and a few other players due to illness. I think the Spits are the better team. They played well under the circumstances.
Interesting. Even when Oshawa is firing on fill cylinders?

I gotta think Oshawa with the playoff experience and added depth will be a major problem.

Contenders currently look like Barrie, Oshawa, Windsor, Kitchener, Brantford and Kingston.

Knights have lost most recently to Windsor and Oshawa (well Sarnia as well), but Windsor and Oshawa have been big tests for us.

I do expect these next 6 games to be tough with 5 of 6 on the road. Shall be interesting to see how the Knights play.

I agree insert Abo and Read to make the 4th line something like Abo-EVG-Read.

Dale was doing some nice mixing on Sunday

It is True. I think they came to Canada when he was 6 or 7 and he never started to play hockey until he was 10 or 11. He is just a natural athlete.

Wow. Lots of raw ability within this kid. Really glad we landed him. Excited to track his development. Would have been nice for him to get some games in B, but at least he’s in a good program in St. Andrew’s.

I am NOT scared of anyone in the West, only team that has the slim hopes of beating London in a 7 gamer is Erie. And only way that happens is if they have a healthy Erliden and he is able to steal a few games.

Obviously small sample size but only team I fear in the East is Oshawa. They play a big boy brand of hockey which usually wins out come playoff time. Now I am sure Barrie will have something to say about that, but we shall see.

He is very rare at this point, but I really liked his patience and moxie in his 7 or 8 shifts.

I am not familiar with St. Andrews, I notcie that a lot of their top notch players have been playing in OHL games all of the sudden. Is there season over already, or are they on a break of some kind?

Another positive result of Dale's line shuffling, was Nurmi rediscovering his scoring touch. Maybe it's just me, but he seemed to be in a bit of a slump, scoring-wise. Potting those 2 goals might just re-ignite his confidence level, and the team gets another goal-scoring threat:thumbu::nod:
