Yup - also I just wonder if this is also a smart add in case there is a 10% chance Cam Allen could possibly come back next year as an OA.

Now once again let me reiterate it is very unlikely, but I would say there is more of a chance of that than Andrew Gibson returning and still less of a price because I’m think Soo would have wanted Noah Read and pieces or an 08.

I don't mind the trade at all. Either D woulda fit in well. ( I like the MOJO of picking up a Storm D near a deadline....has worked out in the oast....not comparing players)

Also sends a message to the West Conf GMs......a message I like wethr it works out or not.

No idea what to expect from the East Side.

Honesty, it feels so nice to go all in. We haven’t had a trade deadline like this in 8 years when Rob Simpson pulled the trigger on Mitchell Stephens and Mitchell Vande Sompel. Going back even further, Mark Hunter hasn’t gone big fish hunting at the trade deadline since 2009 adding John Tavares, Michael Del Zotto and Darryl Borden.

It feels nice to know we can go all in. This makes a trip to Rimouski less daunting.

I think Mark Hunter could also afford to trade the picks for Cam Allen. For some reason we have a really great crop of 08’s coming up and some of our late ‘07’s finding their game. As somebody before posted the GOJHL Top Prospects game (4 rosters) feature a lot of Knights prospects.

F Brenden Gerber ’07
F Cohen Bidgood ‘07
F Kyle Henneberry ‘07
F Reid Gammage ‘07
F Eddie Hickson ‘08
D Braedon Clark ‘07
D Caleb Mitchell ‘08
D William Janicek ‘08

I’m excited for this season. As far as trying to trade for Quentin Musty, if he is cheap sure but I would rather trade for Jett Luchanko. Always go for the center over the winger and push Jacob Julien down to the 3rd line to light a fire under his butt is my thinking.

Dickinson-Allen
Woolley-Bonk
Fimis-Brzustewicz

That is stacked. Allen can play PK and PP if needed. Almost a ppg D. Dude is a #1D. This is so awesome. We have arguably the best D in the league in Dickinson and we add this guy. Very happy!

Hope he gets settled in tomorrow for the game

Does Allen play tomorrow in Erie ??
My hope is yes. Why not?

You think they would be interested in swapping out Julien for Allard? He's a nice fit on a stacked team as one of the best defensive centers I've ever watched.

This is intriguing! How much would that type of trade cost?
Hard to say. The OA market hasn't really been set yet, but Allard is the best one available.

I'm sure Noah Read would be of interest. If just picks, probably at least 3, I would imagine.

What's up with Julien this year? It's shocking to see a drafted veteran at -10 on such a good team. Just an anomaly?

Would it be a good trade? Yes….. Will Mark Hunter do the trade…. probably not.

Allard is the better player and skater, but Julien will be fine because we can’t afford to give up more draft capital and he seems to show up when we are facing the Rags in the playoffs.

I can't see Hunter giving up 3 picks ( if that's what you meant, the post is unclear ) for the bump from Julien to Allard to play 3rd line C.
If you meant a 3rd round pick I still wouldn't do it.
Other deals for both those prices would be a bigger net addition to the team. JMO.

Cost to trade Julien to SSM is Noah Read (who’s a top 6 F for us next year)? Seems high. If it’s just picks for the differential then it might make more sense, but how great is the difference between Allard and Julien even? Julien for sure hasn’t hit his stride yet. Hope he has a huge 2nd half and playoffs

Not necessarily Read. He's just the type of player that they would target. I'm sure it could just be a picks deal as well. I think Allard still goes to Brampton, to be honest.

Having an OHL final appearance two years ago and a championship last year, while adding to the draft picks, is yeoman’s (yes, yeoman’s) work by Hunter. This allows for a deadline where he can add via trade. Fortunately, a couple pieces were added without touching the draft capital (Fimis, Montgomery). One added via young player and picks (Allen). If London has card(s) remaining, nothing would shock me. I say add the biggest piece you deem a threat to you winning, and rebuild next year. But I’m just an observer. Go Knights.
