Congrats to the fellas that got the call, Bravo Zulu!

On the Parekh/Misa situation...... Having watched them both play a lot (17games ish mostly in person) over the last 2 years I think Misa would have a hard time forcing the play in the corners from 19 year olds. Offensively no issue but in a grinding contest he could be warn down. In the road to the end of the playoffs and in the memorial cup he was challenged to break out.

Parehk.... I hate him... dont say that often... I literally cringe every time I see him. From a talent perspective he is off the charts but defensively he would be completely outclassed at the WJC. Like Misa he lacks man strength to mussel the puck from big 19 year old forwards. The other issue is the elephant in the room.... he could lose his shit and two hand a guy in the face..... so Its just not worth the risk. At the WJC level with referees from other countries there will be no protection given to him by the officiating team, nowhere for him to hide, dive or spit on a player not answer the bell.... I cant of want to see him play now just to get absolutely leveled.. jk.

Barkey is by far the smallest of our guys going but he is really strong and one of the best defensive forwards we ever had, with the list of those invited he should make the team, just has to show them what he can do!

I feel very good about this kid in net. Honestly helps stomach the graduations that will happen next year. Having a core of Medsy, Brz, O’Reilly and Nicholl back to lead the team is a great starting point!

Montgomery with the player of the week. So impressed

4/5 would’ve been gunning for the top 2 lines in a scoring role. Barkey is in a checking/defensive role in the bottom 6. Not a fair comparison and definitely not something that should be guaranteed.
Who said I was comparing Barkey to those guys?

Barkey is a bottom six forward for team Canada because he is defensively responsible and is a spark plug. Not sure someone like Barlow would fit that role well, so that’s why he’s not invited. So then again not comparing them.

I sincerely hope someone makes Parekh answer the bell this season. His antics are wearing thin. Whiny l'il beyotch .
I'm not a Bolton fan but seeing Bolts lay Parekh out and pummel him into submission before ZP has a chance to turtle would do my heart good. Then you can kick Bolts out of the league for all I care...but that is my Christmas wish.
And before the high ang mighty jump all over this, am I advocating for a player to hurt another player? Absolutely not. Am I calling for a snot-nosed b!t$h like ZP to be taught a lesson? YEP!

IMHO, Barkey is very under rated. His zone entry skills are easily the equal of many players, and his playmaking and ability to find the open man with pinpoint passes is a significant asset. Being a linemate of Cowan, especially from the time that both were rookies, has contributed to Cowan's success, and I'm sure that he'd acknowledge that. Those 2 became deadly when penalty killing, and were a constant threat when short-handed. On the power play, I've often considered him to be the true quarterback of the PP unit, with others getting credit when the goals are scored. His assist totals seem to bear this out, but he isn't without talent at putting the puck into the net, either. Not too many plays die on his stick, but often, scoring chances happen.

I’m saying that those guys he wouldn’t be competing with in the bottom 6. None of those guys are the same player type of Barkey. They’d be gunning for the top 6 which is usually the most skilled guys that fill the net.

Guys like rehkopf will be going for that top 6 where as guys like barkey will be competing against the Beaudoins, the Gauthiers, Luchankos, yagers etc the defensively responsible guys.

Maybe not even 2 weeks ago several were asking what's wrong with Barkey? Mono can be a really difficult illness to overcome for a teenager especially a high calibre athlete like these kids are. Nice to see him rounding back into shape and getting a little offensive luck back in his game. Solid pick by the Flyers can't wait to see him and Bonk wearing the Flyers jersey.

The Boulton brothers are loved by their teammates ... Having said that last year's Brother (Sawyer?) IMO was a legitimate 3rd or 4th liner on any OHL team. This year's Brother (Rhyder?) on this team I'm guessing will be gone early in the New Year after the WJC when the playoff roster is clearly established. However with all the youngsters playing while the Big 6 are away he can play a huge role making sure the talented youth don't get taken advantage of? Apologies to the Boultons if I mixed you up boys many of us appreciate the security you bring to the rest of the lineup!

I still don't but the security angle for those two because Sawyer last year and Ryder this year were almost always the first in a game making a dirty hit/play. I feel like their antics increase the danger to our players by inflaming the other team--provoking opposition to retaliate against our players.

In contrast, a player like Aboflan hasn't taken runs at opposition players, but can still stand up for teammates if a liberty is taken against them.

I'll also maintain that Ryder earned his spot in training camp last year as opposed to Sawyer who was gifted a roster spot mid-season. Ryder is much more of a hockey player than Sawyer, but still not someone you should be rostering.

To be 100% honest Ryder is a better all around players then his brother. I watched him the summer before the 2023/24 season and he stood out. He was not running around like he is now. He's spending too much time trying to play like his brother did last year and not playing his own game. He's not as big or as tough as his brother and I think he is trying to play up to thart level but it's not happening. He needs to focus more on his hockey and play it smart and quit running around. I'd love to see him use that aggression on forechecking like McCue last year. He has the wheels and is not afraid to play that style.

So the other question is can a trade be made prior to the camp or is the freeze on for invited players?

Trades can continue for all players up until Christmas break. The exception is once invited players go to camp they cannot be traded until they get cut from the team or their team is eliminated from the tournament. Reporting to camp is December 9th.

Possibly 4 Knights on Team Canada! I don't know if it's ever had that many represented from one team.
I was looking at 2005 d-men on teams that will likely not go for it this year, and Finn Harding stood out as a possible trade target. My first choice would be Gibson, but he'd come with a heftier price tag. Cam Allen?
2014/15 the Hounds had 5....but, DeAngelo and Ritchie came over AFTER the tournament ended so we really only had 3 pre-tourny.

4 players making TC before the deadline would be a formidable feat...one that doesn't come around very often i'd bet.

I'm also hoping Gibby gets sent to London. that defense corps with Gibby would be incredible. and most of the hounds fans would love to see him finish his ohl tenure with a championship. he was out for 3 games and we gave up 23 goals...he's a beast.

good luck the rest of the way!
