There's the possibility that his education situation could have an influence on his return. I understand that he's currently enrolled in an Engineering program at Western, and his hockey was a somewhat secondary preoccupation. He could come back to get his degree, while still playing for the Knights, and then graduate to the NHL with the bonus of an Engineering degree in hand. Not too many OHL players exhibit higher academic performances while actively devoting time to hockey. Back in the day, Dave Simpson managed to get his MBA degree while playing for the Knights.
It's possible, that would be smart on him to do. And if he's signed after a great second half, it will not be his decision to make at that point

I would second this, his engineering degree is still very much his highest priority so fully expect him to come back unless he is making the Show...or the Jets can somehow have him play and do his schooling at the same time in the A which is probably not high on their list. He is a very smart individual and it most certainly translates in his play. Lets also not forget that he has only played in 75 regular season OHL games, with the first 45 of those coming in a a very limited role. Another year in the O would probably do him a world of wonder anyways IMO.
So as Logan Mailloux, he did not dress many OHL games himself, and he's not back either, if Julien plays himself to an entry level contract, he's not coming back, it will all depend on a contract

Not really an apples to apples comparison though. Mailloux played professionally in a Professional Mens league at 18 and is an elite prospect NHL 1st rounder.

Julien played Jr B as to start his 18 year old year and was a 4th liner for most of his 18 year old OHL season.

Julien could use 1 more year of O hockey, but he’s been very good as of late

Probably one of those tweeners. Too good for the O, not quite read for the A and would be a waste to throw him in the E. So probably best to come back for one more year of the O where the Jets know he will be on a winning team and develop good on ice habits and finish something that is very important to him.

Entry level contract to entry level contracts, pretty much says the same no matter at what levels of hockey played prior to the signing, it's all up to their team once signed where you're going to play. May it be Red Delicious or McIntosh, they are both apples they both gets eaten

Hey guys, New to the forum, been following for some time and decided to join lol Was talking with some people last week and Julien has left school, he’s now fully committed to making a good a NHl career. If it doesn’t work out then he’s young enough to rejoin the program in a few years
