I've lived in London for 2.5 years now, @GoKnightsGo44 has been trying to convert me since. As much as it would be nice to cheer for a consistently successful team, you just can't give up your hometown team. Jr hockey fans are a loyal bunch.
I've been living in North Bay for about 2.5 years as well and I still cheer for my hometown Sudbury Wolves. Travelled to Sarnia and Windsor last weekend to watch them.

Totally understand. I don't live in Windsor but still cheer for the Spits. makes me laugh when short sighted posters try to tease you for where you live and you don't actually live there. Fans come from all over the world so cheer for who you want. Stay safe.

Been a Knights fan since they entered the league as the London Nationals. Moved to Ottawa in 1967 and got to see the inaugural season of the '67's, but still maintained my loyalty to the Knights. As a new franchise, the only star player the '67's had was Pierre Jarry, back then. Moved back to London in '69, and been here ever since.

For financial and for praises, every team must have their supporting fans, at home and across other towns and cities. Besides, it wouldn't be much fun if we didn't have anyone on the other side to chirp with.

Nice. I’m closer to Windsor/Sarnia territory than London but still root for the Knights.
But I appreciate any success and want to see all players and the OHL succeed.

I agree. If I ever moved out of the London area I'd still root for the Knights. You do you and enjoy the ride.

Yeesh, Can't even give a compliment towards your organization without a smartass comment in return. Pretty sure Sting fans are the last people on earth that need a reminder of the failures of the team they cheer for :thumbu:
Haha, all in good fun. I’ve been a fan of this team far longer than Hunter era. I remember the pain and heartbreak all to well. Throw in my NHL and NFL teams and 🤯. I believe all real sports fans are borderline masochists lol

It's horrible. Every goal they score I plug my ears. It's a joke of a goal song...it sucked 15 years ago...time doesn't change that. Sarnia blows us out of the water for in house experience
Maybe it’s time to try the player chosen individual goal songs. FWIW I like Chelsea Daggar but it isn’t getting the same response from the crowd it used to. If they were to choose one new goal song what about London Calling? That would be unique and kinda fun.

Also time to punt sweet Caroline maybe replace it with some Rick Astley.

LEAMINGTON, ONTARIO – The Leamington Flyers have made a trio of moves to start the second half of their season, highlighted by the acquisition of Chris O’Flaherty from the Ontario Hockey league’s London Knights.

O’Flaherty was the Windsor Spitfires 4th round pick in 2021 and logged 80 games with the club before being dealt to the Niagara Ice Dogs. He was traded to London in November 2023 where he’s appeared in six games for the Knights.

He also scored the GWG in his first game. Probably the best level for him.

Unfortunately agreed. The size is there, but we have other guys who play that physical role better

This, kind of comfirmed we will likely not see James Hagens in a Knight uniform, of course we can always dream. Once drafted he's heading to a NHL roster like Bedard did, and right now he seems to be doing just fine in the US programs. There are a much to be done still to attract US born players to CHL, right now were are at disadvantage and a step behind of signing US and Canadian recrutments. CHL teams have decent school packages but are still way behind the US, by being limited in financial offers to attract elite players from heading to US Colleges. IMHO

For sure also the total freedom of choosing where you play in the NCAA has to be attractive as well. He and his brother can simply choose BC rather then to have to adhere to the draft in the CHL / OHL. Also the ability to simply walkway from the NCAA and go to the AHL at any point would factor in I imagine? Tough obstacles for the CHL/ OHL to deal with.

Ya seems like this is the end of an era until the CHL changes the endorsement rules. Until then we probably won’t see high end Americans (NHL first or second round talent) come over to the OHL.

The only way to get high end players to come over and play for your team is now through the CHL Import draft.

Honestly I dont believe the endorsement rules are a big factor here. It is more that US hockey leagues have caught up in quality and more NHL teams are willing to take players from those leagues. CHL is losing its luster as the only league that can develop players.

It was starting to change before Covid, but the Canadian rules imposed at that time merely pushed US players to opt for home. And it has accelerated since.

I don’t know how we say American recruitment is dead….. Brzustewicz and Arrowsmith are two this year.

Historically in the Hunter era we sit at 50%…. There is no better place for a 16 year old player to be than the USNDP and if we had something similar in Canada everyone would cry foul as it would dilute the CHL as the USNDP dilutes the USHL.

The US does have better men’s league options that Canada cannot compete with but the scholarship program in the CHL moderates that effect with junior age players.

Overall each system has pros and cons and the CHL is a better option for kids that could turn pro but may not be at the very top tier. Give me more of the Dakota Mermis’s and I’m happy.
