Hopefully that resolves this issue for the fans.
I don't think anyone on here can understand the constant pressure these guys and families are under.
Here's hoping he steps back for a while and resolve any issues he may have.
His mistep which lead to this "may be" typically minor amongst us fans but gets total magnified due to who he is and what he does for for a living.
Are there anyone on this thread never made human mental error(s)? Well said Ward .. !

Lynch Syndrome. Know your families cancer history
I posted this in the thread on the Blackhawks board after the comment was made about someone else writing it ( of course they did) then I went off on a tangent because the odd person over there was passing judgment. I guess some people think they are tough so they try to kick someone when they are down...

I will say this: Perry was in his 2nd year in the NHL, still very green. He got asked to do a radio interview about the tournament, it didn't go great. We immediately did up some cue cards with talking points for him. 😃

Still, off the ice a super guy. We had a family reach out to us. Said they would give us $500 for the charity if he would come play road hockey with his kid. He could have said no. There was no newspaper coverage not a photo op. Just a fun afternoon playing hockey with a bunch of kids. We also had a silent auction every year for "Golf with Corey Perry" always successful and he had no issues giving up time for his fans. Night before the tournament we had a meet & greet, no extra charge. He'd take pictures with the fans and brought his gold medal once.

This wasn't some high end tournament that only the rich could afford. We kept the costs down I think the highest we ever charged was $175 per person. Lunch, dinner, driving range, golf, cart, prize. And a kick ass grab bag. Money went to the Wellspring Cancer Support Centre. Tournament started as a low cost alternative to the Memorial Cup golf tournament. For the fans. Perry came in for year 2 as the Corporate Sponsor and the format never changed. We went from 36 golfers in year one and by the end we reached 212 golfers.

Sorry... I went off on a bit of a tangent there. I wanted to give the anecdote about writing for athletes, but I ended up elaborating on why he's not a bad person off the ice. Bottom line, this sort of thing can happen to anyone, athletes and zookeepers alike. It's a disease. It doesn't excuse behavior, but as a society we can be supportive with the hopes it doesn't happen again, or happens to someone closer to us. Because it easily can. So please think before judgment is passed.

Sorry for the rant.

He has always been one of my favorite players. Glad he is taking responsibility for his actions and seeking help.

AROUND THE RINK: London forward Landon Sim, who has missed the first two months, will travel to visit the St. Louis doctors early next week. He has been skating, is in good health after hip surgery and the path to playing again simply hinges on the Blues medical staff . . . The Knights are still having injured overage defenceman Ethan MacKinnon assessed. He has skated with the team but is not expected to play again this weekend .

Van Gorp has some game. I posted before that he’s outplayed a number of forwards.

Defence has not played to their potential.

Mississauga is a good team. Martone is impressive. Two good goalies.

Over 1/3 into the season and I think it's time to stop with the "this team will be fine" and take off the green and gold coloured glasses.
This team is not fine. Loaded with NHL drafted talent but too many individual play and not enough team play. Sometimes being loaded with NHL drafted talent is a curse, and this season is a prime example.
Case in point...EC7: when did he go from the hardest working player on the team to little sh!t-disturber that wants to jaw and fight after every whistle? I see a selfish player. He'll fit in really well with the Leafs eventually with that attitude.
Our vaunted defense? Sloppy, turnovers, lost assignments. Keep getting hemmed in their own zone.
Our top forwards? Where are they. Can't win a face-off. All show and no go.
Our young guys that should be the future: Disappear more often than naught.
Our OAs? Only one has played. The other 2: one hasn't sniffed a minute of ice time (because of injury through no fault of his own) and the other may as well not even lace them up with his absolute lack of contribution. We need more than that from our OAs.
Heart? Pffft. If this team gets down by more than 1 goal, game over. Just going through the motions.
This is the first season in forever where you just get the feeling that when the team falls behind, no one is going to step up and create a scoring opportunity, or draw a penalty, or throw a thunderous check, or heck...even get in a fight, to turn the tide.
Leadership? None on the ice as far as I see.
I'm afraid that this team can't be fixed simply by bringing in a couple of players via trade, but a message needs to be sent. If that means shipping out a player or two that may seem as untouchable, then so be it. Put the fear of God into the players....let them know that team comes first and if you don't do your job, someone else will.
My list of expendables:
MM39, WN73, RVB55, KJ37, SO23, JJ13, JE92, . Heck, even EC7 can go as far as I'm concerned.

You make some valid points, but remember, they are still kids and still learning what works and what doesn't work.

How well did Peterborough do in the regular season last year? Yet, they still managed to win the league. Learning to play as a team takes time and can't be corrected overnight, but I trust the Hunters to get the required messages across for when it really counts. I'm sure Mark will tinker with the lineup, but major changes are doubtful....just time and plenty of coaching are what is needed most.

Many here are criticizing MacKinnon, but have already forgotten he was one of our most reliable defenders (not flashy, but steady) in last years playoffs! Add him and Sim back into the mix, and the team takes another step forward.

I know you hate hearing it, and some nights it's tough to watch, but they will be fine. ;)

I agree with some of your thoughts and did not think the Knights looked good at all last night.

Seemed to me in last night's game that many of the Knights were trying to do too much and not sticking to their systems. At times they looked like the keystone cops in their own end. Off the glass from time to time might be a safer approach than passes up the middle.

Simpson was solid and kept the score respectable.

Officiating was not up to par with the level of play.

I think #7 is not playing the same game he played last year. He was effective last year using his speed both ways and setting up offensive opportunities rather than trying to do it all. He has team mates who can put the pick in the net so should use them more.
