I would really like to see this whole melee at 19:15 of the third. How does all 5 London Players gets called for a total of 7 penalties for roughings & misconducts incl, while Sarnia who had six skaters on that ice and were also invilded only gets the 2 players called for a total of 4 penalties for roughings and. misconducts. Were the 4 other Sarnia angels invisible or what ?

Couple the Sting players didn't stand up with their teammates in the scrum.
Pastu was upset he got ripped by Cowan for an EN, took a shot the next play.....
Not saying it was really dirty just a blindside by rules and unnecessary at the time but then he pulled the Matthews

Couldn't be more proud of Bowen!

He managed to toss the pressure aside and turn in a solid showing! Hopefully this quiets all the naysayers!

Hmmm, several Sarnia posters were saying they thought tonight's game would decide the series. I wonder if they'll stand by those remarks. :sarcasm:

Great win!!… Zach brought his ‘A’ game last night…..Winterton is definitely our best forward along with Cowan and Barkey …. Gazizov had himself a good game …. the team gave Bowen a lot of support blocking shots and clearing any rebounds……Zach made some unbelievable saves in the first 2 periods…… Great series!!

Wow...with a save percentage tracking line like that how could anyone consider this guy an OHL caliber goaltender let alone a number 1?

By the way...that's Gaudreau's stat line ;)
I see what you did there.

It’s almost as if goalie stats at the major junior level need a lot of context and can be very misleading on the surface! But it was all Zach’s fault this week!!!

It's all about taking a small sample size in an attempt to support your agenda. A number of posters here do it and I have very little respect for their opinion or point of view when they have such a narrow minded approach to stat compiling

example....a team could lose 8 in a row and then ching off 5 wins in a row. Now...is that team 5-0 and on a hot streak in their last 5 games....or are the 5-8 in their last 13 and not playing all that well recently?

one can move the goalposts however they see fit to support their stance, but I choose to look at EVERY variable...it gives you more information.

Could not agree with you more.

I’d add - even in larger samples at the junior level, I’d be pretty hesitant to put a lot of stock in the counting or surface level stats of goalies. And, London themselves are using much more advanced metrics than what is available on the OHL website. I’d guarantee that. Hard to criticize as a fan when we don’t even know what is being applied internally.

Bowen has shown he's a gamer. He let his emotions taken over in Sarnia but refocused and was dialed in last night! Knights now have two cracks at sending the string golfing .
Bowen personal deserved first star honors no offense to Wint.

Pastu hit was maybe a bit of a blindside
I didn't think a head shot or anything. But to giggle n hide n let your teammates stand up for u.....

London did a much much better job in the D zone taking prime spots away n cross ice tap ins.
But ya Sarnia for stretches held zone pressure.
Kyrous 2 pinches he got caught on lead to goals on odd man rushes.
Posted London has to be opportunistic and they do. When 77 takes a penalty or 61 has a bad pinch they gotta make em pat. Sarnia has more skill.
Ya giggling and letting other guys stand up for you is kinda dumb. But at the end of the day he threw a body check to the shoulder on a guy who had the puck. He or his teammates shouldn’t have had to stick up for him, that play is part of the game, don’t Ike getting hit pick a different sport.

I’d have to agree considering neither team has won on the road . Who knows tho it’s junior hockey.

If London top two lines can cancel out Sarnia top two, London will beat Sarnia on the effort of their better bottom six players and another strong performance from Bowen in net. This is where the gravy start to floe when a team has 4 good lines rolling. Look for strong showing from Sim Crane Gazizov McCue Julien and Federkow to have a monster game 6. It's with these guys London will close out this series if their top two lines can nullify Sarnia's, the killer game six is here for the taking. IMHO

Of course I didn't mean to leave out the six defenders they are as equally important as well and will be there for the big close out game 6

If there is any chance we get Winterton back next year...the line with Cowan and Barkey could set the league on fire. Bowen was steady and after that first ten minutes he looked confident. As others have said very impressed with effort from Sim, Federkow and Gaz. To me Julien (who i really like) needs to raise his game a little...i expect he will, maybe even score a big goal in these two final games. Our defense has stepped up, there job is got much harder with shoot-ins but so far were winning most puck battles. Could this be a series that goes 7 into overtime? Cheers

Was it a blindside? Don't wanna stand up for yourself don't take that shot at that time? Always 2 sides.
I figure he was just pissed Cowan picked his pocket, scored making him look silly.
End of the day I'm not upset about the hit, and I agree it's kinda dumb to not at least grab someone, giggling when all your teammates are engaged. Regardless the reason.

Certain players are really just SOS(pm me for the definition if you don't know) when it comes to standing up for themselves. At least little pricks like Marchand and Tkachuk will answer the bell

Kyrou made 2 bad plays at the Ozone blueline directly leading to goals.
High risk high reward type player, last night he got bit.
I thought the Knights did better defensively even thou Sarnia had lots of possession. Might be wrong.... I'll watch again if I got time today, but Sarnia didn't seem to be getting to the blue ice screening or ripping as many cross ice tape to tapes.
I expect to see a game Monday but won't be upset if I save the ticket price, dinner and a beer lol.

It's not like the hit will do anything to deter #7. If anything it'll jack the GAF meter up a 1/4 notch lol.
