again...differing opinions are welcomed. Your insight lacks any real factual input. There's a difference

There's more to the Jordan Kooy story than 95% of the posters here will ever know
Oh I’m well aware of the Jordan Kooy story, but I feel it still applies.

Many are just stating fact from what we have seen in games 3 and 4. Bowen is not ready to be in this position. That is not a criticism nor a statement that he is not the goalie of the future. I sincerely hope he is. He just isn’t the goalie for the 2023 playoffs. Simple as that.

There is also the disappointment of knowing what could have been if BB30 did not get injured. Probably would have been a 3-1 series heading home.

This I will agree with. The kid has been thrown to the wolves here. Some posters aren't happy unless they are raising the ire of people. Kind of a shitty way to live if you ask me. I got berated for my sexual orientation earlier in the season. Nothing should surpirse me on this board..but it still does

It was rainy today in Guelph.... f*cking Bowen...

What percentage of a chance would you have given in with Brochu?
Rhetorical question???
Let's see... the games were more competitive with Brochu between the pipes. In fact, we won 2 games with him in the net, and his play had a lot to do with it. Did you find my comment about Brochu giving us a chance to win outlandish or contentious in any way? Certainly the odds are better with Brochu between the pipes. And that's the only point I was making.
OR to put the point in another way. My position is that for London to win the series, Brochu between the pipes is a necessary condition, not a sufficient condition.

Hit the nail right on the head! Disappointment and frustration of what could have been manifests as hyper-criticism. Bowen has been the sacrificial scapegoat in Sarnia.
But all hope is not lost until we lose home ice advantage. Here's hoping ZB31 comes out and plays lights out on Friday like we know he can. He's done it before, no reason not to do it again.

I think we all have to be realistic at this point. Bowen is 17 year old goalie who was a very serviceable backup goalie this season. He mainly played against the weaker teams when that weaker team was on a back to back. He was shielded for most of this season and is being groomed to play 50 or so games next year. Folks thinking Bowen was going to come in and provide us with world glass goaltending ( which we have in Brochu ) was just Ludacris. Bowen is an average OHL goaltender who is an above average 17 year old tendy which is absolutely not a knock on him at all. I think this just elevates what we have witnessed in Brochu in his time with the Knights. Comparing an average 17 year old goalie with a WJC goalie is asanine. Not Bowens fault, he never asked to get thrown to the wolves but he is only going to continue getting better and we cant place blame on him, this is a team game, our whole team has been outplayed.

Bowen won't be a Parsons or even a brochu.
Anyways, does london have a goalie problem? To be more specific do we struggle to develope goalies? Onuska, kooy, Flores, and now Bowen have struggled here and the first 3 were traded
Mason, Houser, Parsons, Brochu, Gino, Coleman, MacD....... I actually think they have done quite well vs. the league over 20 years. Spoiled actually. JMO.

Anyone who thinks these last two games were lost mainly due to goaltending just don’t understand the basics. Not worth it. Careful what you post ya’ll. Mental health is a thing. Get some additional hobbies if you’re this agitated by teen athletics. Have a safe summer.

I've tried, but some posters here and on other teams sites need to find a crutch or excuse why their fav team gets beat........sad, on this forum or any other when posters look to blame 1 or 2 kids, or a coach or the refs. ( just give the other squad credit)
It's a team game. Played by teens.

Relax on Bowen. He has not been good the last two games. He also hasn’t played in 3 weeks and with back to back games it was never a great scenario for him

He’s not Brett Brochu but he’s a better backup than many in this year. Let’s not trade him out of town quite yet.

Two less than stellar games but now the team can regroup and hopefully show up to help Bowen on Friday.

My only concern is that the team isn’t playing with the same confidence as they did with Brochu in net. I guess that’s to be expected

Everyone take a deep breath it won’t be easy but the team still has a chance against a good Sarnia team.

The Knights have had some great goalies over the years for sure but for whatever reason, they don’t seem to produce top tier pro goalies like they do players. The only goalie who has done anything of substance in the NHL is Mason. There have been others that played in London, who have gone on and had good careers (Hutchinson, Stolarz) but London didn’t develop those guys, they acquired them later on and I wouldn’t say those guys are top tier.

I have wondered this for years, why doesn’t London produce pro goalies like they do players. Maybe because they produce so many good players, the goalies get shielded a bit on good teams?

Of course you are speaking of the recent Knights teams. Some of us remember some excellent NHL caliber goalies... Bouchard and Riggin.

I just think the Knights are running out of steam against a top notch team in the Sting. In all honesty I think the Sting have another gear or two.

Original post I responded to said develop goalies, not NHLers. And they do develop very good junior goalies.

Maybe the organizational focus is that they recruit, draft, develop good-great Jr goalies? And don't worry about NHLmprojections at that position? Wouldn't blame them at all.

With 60ish spots for tenders in the show vs 600ish for skaters in the show.......it's a 10-1 ratio....
Add in a big % of Euro/Russian top tenders recently in the NHL...not alot of spots open.
It's just not a focus IMO to recruit future NHL goalies.......most take 5/6 years after junior to even get a sniff. And some aren't great Jr goalies vs peers but develop after. LK has developed goalies.
