We should have a round devoted to kids who will only play for u guys from now on. Save everyone else the time & effort.

And yes I'm salty. Look forward with great anticipation for Moore to sign next summer.

Not sure how adding a 16 year old makes you think they’re going all in this year. It’s a long-term gain type move. Unexpected but affordable.
Exactly! Truth is, we might lose players next year. Halttunen (AHL), Dickinson (NHL) with an outside chance we lose Bonk as well.

Even if we just lose two, those are huge losses. Then we fill that void with Brzustewicz, Ustinkov, and potentially Moore and Hagens as the next wave starting 2024-2025.

What this signify though is that MacKinnon or Federkow are leaving the Knights at some point because the D Corps are getting crowded and because they are both OA’s.

George - Bonk
Dickinson - Leonard
Edward - Brzustewicz

That or Mark is gonna move Edward Leonard to recoup some higher picks that we used to acquire Henry

We got Henry Brzustewicz??? Crazy and great move! Rangers fans aren’t gonna be happy…..
No, we knew the rumors were unlikely because prior to him becoming available we already had 4 16 year olds signed who look to play the season, and a 5th also signed. Unless Henry was going to play USHL or OJHL or something for a year, it wouldn't make much sense (and our draft cupboard isn't very strong to begin with).

I'm a little surprised but the Hunters have a consistently pivoted n been flexible in acquiring higher end talent for 20 years. Rules have changed but they find a way.
Scoop defective players, move up in Euro draft ect....
It's all about asset management and I gotta feeling redundant, excess ohl quality players will be flipped to recoup the couple 2nds n a 3rd spent here. As mentioned by minorleaguefan the value in adding players early is worth it when measuring bang for buck. Esp. If your confident you can backfill the picks.
I wouldn't expect much this year but hopefully he gets his feet wet and develops as many D have recently.
Still surprised, but not upset at the move at all.

LDN will be happy.

Do the Knights hold onto him going forward or flip him at the deadline again like they did with Testa?
This move is a long term play. Never say never especially when dealing with teenagers but the move would be redundant at the deadline they could have just used those pick then. He will be around for the long haul barring anything unforeseen.

This move probably means that Fagan II will spend the season in Jr. B, which is will be a good thing. His size and skating is decent but his positional play needs some serious work.

George won’t be back as an OA

Because he is a great person whom I have been reading for a very long time and it just doesn’t feel the same with him not posting .

He is a legend and deserves recognition on these forms especially for all of his incredible work and updates on the Knights :

I’ve been reading his posts since I was 14
Much respect to PP31. Much respect to him and his contributions to this thread. Not him specifically, but I remember a time where there was a clicky group with him amongst that group. I appreciate him, but I appreciate how open this thread has now become without some of the older posters that just kind of stuck together and pretended like they ran this thread.

8. Hamilton Bulldogs (Steven Ellis) - Henry Brzustewicz, D, New Jersey U16
One of the best skaters in the draft, Brzustewicz has the makings of a top-pairing, two-way defender. He's excellent on the rush (at both ends) and is calculated with his stick work. He doesn't waste much movement trying to shut someone down, and I’m fully convinced he’ll put up significant point totals in the O. The younger brother of Kitchener's Hunter, he was recently left off the U.S. NTDP team for U17.
