What a warrior!
I don't know. I don't think is behavior people should be looking up to. What if he had aggravated something to the point that he was permanently only a fraction as good as he once was? What if taking up ice time in that condition was more detrimental to his team instead of giving it to a healthy player (or more healthy as most players have some injury at this point). I get trying to battle through some things but when you're to the point where you can't dress yourself, you're being delusional and/or it's for your ego more than anything.

What is Sean Burke’s ties to the London Knights other than his son Brendan Burke?

Congrats to Paul Cotter on winning the Stanley Cup!

Notable ppl let go are Paul Workman, Joyce Napier, Tom Walter's and Danielle Hamadjan. Most if not all of the big names will find employment elsewhere if they want. But it's the grunts and the ones behind the scenes that will be the ones who will be going through life changing decisions.
Is this the station that covered the Knights?

CJBK was the home of the Knights until a few yrs ago when CFPL 980 AM took over.

Feel for those affected. Sucks. Kinda speaks to profit only mentality of corporations. You would think in an industry of creativity, the decision makers would be able to find alternate solutions.

Bonk focused on all-around game ahead of 2023 NHL Draft

Defenseman prospect takes pride in 'small little details'

Oliver, who was born in Ottawa, had several stops during his playing career, based on where Radek was at the time.

"I became a defenseman because back when I was in Czech, we had a team of players who couldn't really skate backwards very well," he said. "I was always a gifted backwards skater, so I started playing the position and it just stuck with me from that point."

Said Radek: "He's good defensively, wins battles, his first pass is good ... it's those little things I think people look for. Not everybody's going to be Cale Makar, going end to end, highlight goals every week. I don't think it's him. It's just doing a lot of things well over the course of the game."

Oliver was chosen in the second round (No. 26) by London in the 2021 OHL draft.

He began the 2021-22 seaon with St. Thomas of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League and had 32 points (five goals, 27 assists) in 32 games, before getting his shot with London later that season.

"I was playing 25-plus minutes a game (with St. Thomas)," Oliver said. "I hopped right into the first defense pairing, first power-play unit, first penalty kill, so it was good to kind of learn the ropes. I learned how you need to act when you're playing big minutes, how you need to recover. Playing those minutes got me ready for the OHL."

Bonk (6-1, 180), No. 20 on NHL Central Scouting's final ranking of North American skaters presented by BioSteel, ranked second among rookie defensemen in the Ontario Hockey League with 40 points (10 goals, 30 assists) and was first with 17 power-play points (15 assists) and four short-handed points (three assists) in 67 games.

"One of the things I've learned as a scout is that players that end up having success at the next level usually have a draft year where they really grow and understand the game better," Central Scouting director David Gregory said. "Oliver is a player who obviously has the lineage, but he's gotten so much better as the years have progressed. His trajectory has been straight up; no inconsistencies in his game. And he's gained more confidence playing with the puck."

I'll take a player who wants to go out there no matter what to mix it up there hurt if he has to any day any time over a healthy player worrying about getting hurt and playing

When Misha Donskov lifted the Stanley Cup Tuesday night, his thoughts went immediately to his late father Paul.
The Vegas Golden Knights assistant coach and former London Knights assistant GM wouldn’t have been in the game of hockey without him.

Regarding the OP comments, with the money on the line in potential career earnings he isn’t playing if there was any risk of further injury. 75% Matthew is still far ahead of any potential replacement any team would have available. And I agree a guy who wants to play thru this is a guy I want on my team!!!!
This kid is a “chip off the ole block” the ole man was a tough little SOB PITA player as well! To bad, I had zero interest in this years final anyway BUT would have liked to have seen Florida win it for him!

How can you not love Cowan? He’s likely my favourite player on the projected roster for next season. Who is your favourite player?

We will see on the conditions. But might just be tied to games played.

He has been injured. He is also an over ager, so could persue other avenues (re school) or pro in Europe, since I believe he is dual citizen.

Missy Probably wanted some assurances he would actually play, before giving up anything more than a 15th rd pick.
