Hitting the ice caused the injury..not the initial hit. I want consistency...if a suspected head hit gives you 5 and a game because an injury occurred..then a blatant head hit should surely warrant the same penalty even if the player shakes it off and skates away. Which was the case when Boqvist was hit in front of the London bench after Lochead's ejection. The entire London bench stood up and erupted and protested their displeasure...that doesn't happen on a clean hit
How could you possibly know that? Maybe it was both, but getting a shoulder square in the face is going to cause an injury.
I don't necessarily disagree that the hit on Boquist was a bad one, but two wrongs don't make a right. That does nothing to change my opinion on the Lochead hit.
