Yes, I know he came up in Calgary organization. He’s an instant fan favorite with the effort he brings. Never have heard a bad word about him from any who have met him.

Paul Cotter was checked by another flame and Lomberg was going in for a additional hit but Cotter was already on his way down so Lomberg hit the boards and lost his balance and fell on Cotters head with his ass pretty hard.

based on the video I don't think Bastian saw everything that happened but honestly if I saw my teammate having his faced buried into the ice because the opponent was sitting on his head with all his weight I'd go straight to "defend my teammate" mode.

As lomberg said in his naked video above, without seeing what entirely happened it probably looked dirty as hell and he gave props to Bastian for sticking up for his teammate.

The guy fell as Lomberg was already coming for the hit. Lomberg went right over the top of him and the force of his hit went into the boards...then he landed on top of him.
Looked much worse than it was.
