Not only has he paid his dues, he is now an ambassador to consent and respect, especially as a Hab, it resonates.

Like you said......M-O-V-E T-H-E F-*-*K O-N
Never going to happen, sadly.

A mod had a “hockey only” discussion tag in a Mailloux thread title. And you guessed it, it turned into the usual feeding frenzy and virtue signaling and how he’s a criminal, the me too movement and cancel culture arguments were right behind.

If someone digs up the Jan. 6th insurrection footage, guaranteed that they’ll find a Mailloux doppelgänger and they’ll add that too to his resume. It just never ends.

Luckily, the Habs have brought in experienced and knowledgeable people to help him deal with that big target that will always be on his back,

However, I expect him to have matured and learned extensively from all of it and not only will he be a better person because of it but most importantly, he’ll be helping others out down the road, which could be of immeasurable value and a testament to second chances.

I’m also hoping that more was done to help his victim get access to all the resources she needs, to help her heal and have a better life.

It’s not Mailloux’s fault that he’s working at a very public occupation. Had he signed the same contract in a non-public arena, you wouldn’t get these posturing, holier-than-thou sticklers creating empty narratives about how he’s getting rich and being rewarded while his victim is languishing.

It is what it is, let’s hockey and see this guy finally get into games.

Glad everyone got their two cents in.

Hot takes for prospects are what we live for so here’s mine- the kid looks like a young Brent Burns out there. If he reaches his potential, that is MASSIVE for us.

I am super excited to see how he does in London this year and hoping to lord almighty he stays healthy and even gets a playoff run in

Here's hoping to a healthy and successful season in the OHL!

I may be wrong but I feel he spent a lot of time in Montreal/Brossard this summer. I hope he spent some productive time with Nicholas and some NHLers and that it will translate on the ice in London. Can't have enough 6'3 RDs with a bomb of a wrist shot and who skate like the wind

He's learning from me, lol. He' doesn't know it. My mentoring is subliminal. :sarcasm:

The most important now is this will end with an happy ending. Let's put a smile on our faces, it's a sunny day anyway. :)

I knew it wouldn’t take long for the anti-woke zealots (or whatever nonsense) to claim this as a victory against their enemies.

He’s done enough to earn a second chance and he got it. It’s not a political victory for you lot, it’s his work paying off.
What exactly is “anti-woke”?

You have to wonder whether Hockey Canada will give Mailloux a chance to play in this upcoming WJC after all the recent scrutiny HC's been under compliments of a far more serious transgression.
A MINOR, Mailloux, recording a sexual act by an ADULT? Hmm, smacks of predatory behavior by the ADULT. Is she on some kind of list so that people know what she has done to a MINOR?

Sex offenders need to offend as an 18 year old, he was a minor.
He was never accused of a crime in Canada and has no criminal record.
So, an adult preying on minors, while being recorded, would be a criminal sex offender in Canada?

Yay!

Congrats to Mailloux.

I hope really has learned his lesson and can serve as a counter force to inappropriate Male sexual behavior/violating other's personal privacy.

Why just male??? Women do exactly the same crap all the time.

I'm wondering how long that stupid act will stick to him. I believe the reaction (legal/suspension from the OHL/very bad PR) has been more than enough.

Even if I'm saying that, I'm hoping he'll have a very short leash. I hope he'll stay clean and medias/fans will talk more about his skills in the coming years.

I think it's permanent, but it's also fake. In that the outrage might be loud online but otherwise it's likely not too bad.

That's part of the deal for him. As you say, if he plays well it will give everyone something else to talk about with him.

Good for Mailloux. He's got himself on the right path after his life mistake. How you react and change from mistakes should be the focus. Everyone makes mistakes and the difference with his mistake is it's under public eye.

Potential is clearly there and our management got a good look at that recently. Time to focus on the future, not the past. One of our best prospects and we have many.
The most important thing is what you learn from your mistakes. They don’t have to define you unless you make them over and over and over again. Many successful ppl in life fail and they fail often. Failure is where you learn the most. It’s time we move on, Logan has.

Couldn't care less about the nonsense at this point, hopefully this young man is able to stay healthy and play hockey. Missed a lot of hockey and there's a niggling voice in my head saying it's lost time that'll never be fully made up.
