Prospect Info: Logan Mailloux Part 3 The Only Hockey Talk Thread

that's very tough to know though as I used to rail against posters that hyped up Beaulieu when he was in Hamilton, I talked about how he kept repeating the same stupid mistakes over and over and how that is a big red flag. If you had of told me then that he would still end up playing almost 500 games in the NHL I would have said no way he's too stupid and can't get a shot on net to save his life. I was wrong.

Now that there's 32 teams it's watered down even more. One thing Mailloux has shown so far is he can produce but to try and figure out how much can he produce as say a PP specialist 7th D if he can't improve his defense vs what the lazy and or stupid plays he makes. It's just hard to know how much improvement he can make or not.

I have a lot of concerns, as he will just give up on a play at times and others he just does the opposite of what you should do. But I look at Baron and think Mailloux can be better then him.
very well said. I keepo reading how many dont value mailloux and that reinbacher was the wrong pick, yet the same people say the habs biggest need is RD.
I would say we should stay patient. things will figure themselves out , especially with elite management

4 years in the AHL?

Which great players spent four years in the AHL?
Not the AHL, but Brian Rafalski spent 4 years in Europe after College hockey before coming to the NHL.

Ryan Pulock was drafted as a 1st rounder, 15th overall and spent just over 3 years in the AHL.

A couple of right hand shooting defensemen that took longer but turned out well. Time will tell, I think Mailloux will be fine in a limited/sheltered role on a bottom pair.

I'm confused. People give up on this guy so easily. Not me. Our biggest need is RHD. He isn't perfect but I still believe he'll make the lineup soon.

Hutson is small and can't defend but I'm sure nobody here wants to trade him.

Mailloux such a wildcard it's hard to judge. Not your traditional defense prospect
