Before this thread inevitably derails:

  • He didn't do what alot people assume he did
  • what he DID do, is universally thought of as a pretty sh***y thing to do
  • He WAS punished (OHL suspension, Arrest/Fine in Sweden)
  • 3 different leagues have investigated and thought enough to move on from it
  • He's shown legitimate remorse, had sensitivity classes and has volunteered in various organizations in an attempt to learn and grow from the situation.
Beautiful first goal.

His punishment back in North America was only pathetic because of the laws where he did what he did and he shouldn't be in the NHL. Not only what he did do was pathetic, he went out of his way to ridicule and ruin someone.

Blokes still finding ways to minimize what he did is on brand here though. No need to reply. Any fan celebrating him in this thread I'll be putting on ignore.

What he did was objectively wrong and illegal. He's taken significant steps to right his wrongdoing since then. Saying he shouldn't be in the NHL is absurd.
