I couldn't bare to watch. Thanks to @Tak7 for the summaries!

Nothing new learned. The fact some of them stand there and talk about how close they are tells us they have zero idea of how far they are away.

I blame Dubas a Keefe for creating a 'participation trophy' culture. You lost in the first round for the 7th time in 8 playoffs. You suck. Own it ffs.

I don't think we can read much into that. They aren't going to go out and bury each other. But what it does tell me is that Treliving is probably the right guy for the job. His execution at the start was poor but it shows Treliving understands how to build a team the right way and what character is needed to win.

If anything I see this more as a shot at previous management. The guys they brought in, did not mesh and in key moments it affected them. This year they failed again, but you could see in games 3, 5 & 6. They were willing to go to war for one another. I can't say I've seen that in any other year. Ultimately Morgan said it the best, it's not perfect but there is a framework here of what the culture needs to be, how you become one as a team. So they need to tinker and continue to fine tune and move the guys out that can't get on board with that culture fast enough.

Tavares is trying to show stoic leadership and belief in the current plan.

It’s like he’s trying to sell the company line or something but it’s quite evident everyone in the room knows he’s full of shit, so now he just looks disingenuous and out of touch.

He so devoid of a human touch. Like sometimes it’s okay to back away from the corporate training. Not that I was looking for it today from him.

I'm glad someone else is on it.

ef me, just get an A.I to do his media responsibilities.

It's Tavares - if you were expecting some sort of fiery or earth shattering quote from him, you simply haven't been paying attention for half a decade.
I expect nothing but PC Nonsense from all of them, which is why I don't waste my time listening to them. Hence the puke buckets comment.

Marner had a chance to spin some of those questions onto himself and having to be better… but he just lumped himself back with the core.

Brutal.

If that group believes 1 round win inn8 years is right there, then they all need to go.

Go ask MacKinnon or McDavid if that’s acceptable.

We don’t want guys that believe that.
More word salad from a bunch of losers, they have no idea what it takes to win two rounds let alone vie for the cup. Their arrogance is infuriating………

feel really bad for Samsonov. First one so far who admits that he needs/needed to be better. Seems completely crushed by it - watching the final goal and outcome
Sammy’s definitely a likeable guy, but his mental breakdown and inconsistent play should guarantee is departure imo……..

I just hope the leafs get something for Marner, it would be shitty if he played this season, and walks as UFA, I mean its a real possibility

If they tell him they have no intention of resigning him, and ask them to work with them to find a place he can insure he gets his 8th year on the next contract.

They could also just make it absolutely miserable for him and try to force his hand.

There was the food poisoning idea, which is a bit sensitive to talk about.

It's not like he's going to say, "Oh yeah, I was shitting threw the eye of a needle."

Tsn has a video clip Matthews saying it was a weird hit that kept him out

Nah, they don’t have time to care about any of that. It’s all about how much “belief” is in the room, how they’re “right there”, and all the wonderful “lessons” they’re learning.
Thanks.
Didn't really expect anything but thought i'd ask.

Willie seems like the only guy who is growing to hate losing and his competitive fires are burning brighter year over year. You can see the shape of a veteran leader forming from that. He gives me the most hope combined with his on ice contributions.

Matthews looks like he’s been though a lot health wise. He has enough ability to figure it out even though I don’t think he’s got the fire of a Mackinnon or McDavid that would propel him to top of class. But he can figure it out.

Marner looked very young out there. I don’t think he’s capable of leading a playoff winner by demeanor or physical build but if the price point was okay I don’t think he should be the automatic scapegoat. He’ll bring you to the dance but will puke all over himself from the nerves. That’s the deal.

Tavares is a terrible culture setter. Seems like a nice guy but his corporate friendly generic messaging is a big part of what’s wrong with the Leafs. Seems like a participation trophy kind of guy as someone mentioned above.

Rielly is the low key becoming very problematic for me. He comes across as a nice guy who is supposed to be emotionally relatable, is sad about losing, but if actions speak louder than words is okay with losing - cause it’s hard to win. He’s the most “DeMar” in his outlook.
