All you can do is laugh at the situation. The second we see at least a little bit of promise that the second line is getting it together, it is the first line that is "struggling" for the third game straight. This has to be some kind of joke.

Just to be clear, this game only reinforced my beliefs about switching up the top-6, but it was nice to see a sharper ELL after 35 games. Good on them.
This is a good thing. We are demonstrating we actually have a balanced line up. Every line is not going to be red hot all the time. You need different lines to come through at different times. We are among the league leaders for both GF/GP and GA/GP. And believe it or not combined our special times are moving closer to the top of the class.

Watching highlights of Nasville last game . That team is scary good.

But if our two #1 lines are clicking at the same time against them. Jets got a chance against the preds
Agreed they would have a chance. But I'd really prefer to face them with a series under our belt. And man does it feel good to get into a discussion about possible playoff matchups. Isn't that reserved for fans of good teams :sarcasm:

You are right, but we have not demonstrated that yet. We are seeing promises. 1-2 games do not erase 35 games IMO.

As far as my understanding goes, goal differentials are not good predictors of future success, basically that is why Corsi etc are preferred.

The Ducks weren't exactly mighty in this game either. At least the Viasat commentator was making remarks about the poor play.

There was a lot of refreshing stuff in this game too though; ELL, 2nd PP, solid turn-around games from Little and Ehlers, good defensive effort were it not for defensive lapses at times.

1st PP had a generationally bad shift. That was a sight to behold.

Watching Corey Perry lose is always a good day.

Hellebuyck was great in net again.
Having good solid consistent goaltending has really made the difference this season.

Okay this criticism of Trouba has gotten out of hand. He had one bad mistake early on in the game, but his overall game has been pretty good. I'm not saying he's been as good as he was last year but a big part for why we are 14-5-3 is because we have had an incredibly steady performance out of Trouba and Morissey, who are on most nights shutting down the opponents top lines.

Thank you! He's messed up here n there maybe he's sick last cpl games but he's shutting Don teams top lines with morrisey. Ppl like to over react though, hockey is about even keel not to high not to low he's gonna win us games and lose us games just like every other #1 defencemen

Give it time. This team is in the midst of jumping from a lottery team to a contender. It will be a little rocky and uneven at times but the young talent on the team is exceptional and is finding its way. The biggest missing piece was goaltending and that looks to have arrived.
