Granato liked Weissbach's start obviously:
“What a great start for Linus,” Wisconsin coach Tony Granato said. “He’s got breakaway speed, great hands and is a good competitor for a smaller guy. He got two huge goals tonight and two goals on plays that not many players make. He’s going to be an exciting player for us and it was a big night for him.”

“Wags made that play by slowing it down and making a great saucer pass right into Linus’ wheelhouse,” Granato said. “Linus positioned himself well and made it hard for the goalie by shooting back to the weak side.”

Look at how Jesper Bratt is doing for NJ - 6th round pick in 2016 that's about to make the team.

It never hurts to take skilled Swedes in late rounds.

Hehe - I could get all glowing about him, but I thought he took a moment to corral a bouncing puck before gaining the line and feeding Fredric, then he moved deeper on RW while Fredric cut to the middle and pounded it home from the high slot.

Pointless Oct14 at Merrimack and Oct20 vs NMU, but scored the fourth goal in the Oct21 4-0 win vs NMU in Green Bay: "Freshman Linus Weissbach added a goal for good measure in the third frame, one-timing a pass from the corner through traffic and past Mathias Israelsson, who took over the NMU net after the Badgers' third goal."

+1 through 1 period tonight against the Spartans. He didn't have a direct hand in any of the three goals, was driving wide, filling his lane on the 3-0 goal that I'm sure Ed Minny would like back.

Pick up the primary helper on the Badgers' 6th goal, putting it right in the defenseman's wheelhouse for a long-range one time bomb.

Weissbach Records 4 Points Over The Weekend For Wisconsin -
By Kris Baker @SabresProspects / SabresProspects.com

University of Wisconsin freshman Linus Weissbach (2017, seventh round) compiled four points over the weekend to help the Badgers earned a win and tie with conference rival Michigan and capture key points in the Big Ten Hockey standings.

After netting a pair of assists in a 7-3 shellacking of Michigan on Friday, Weissbach connected for the second two-goal game of the season Saturday as the Badgers played to a 4-4 tie with the Wolverines.

With the Badgers trailing 2-1, Weissbach snapped a five-game goal drought with a quick, high shot from the right face-off circle to knot the game at 10:51 of the middle frame.

Less than four minutes later, Wiessbach went to the net, stripped the puck from a defenseman who has collected a rebound, and deposited his second goal of the night to give the Badgers the 3-2 lead.

Weissbach now has five goals this season, which ranks third-most among the Badgers, and 10 total points in 13 games. Weissbach's markers have come with a 25 percent shooting percentage, good for second-best on the team.

Nice keep on a bouncing puck at the blueline, feeds Dhooghe who finishes. Linus with the primary.
