He is a very strange goalie.

People are quick to forget, that his Hart level play prior to the back strain is what saved our season. Team defense and adapting to the system was part of it too, but Ullmark was playing like the guy who won the Vezina a few years back with a .940 or whatever it was.

At times, he looks like he belongs on Jack Purcell rink. Just flopping around. I wonder if he is playing hurt. He has not been good enough since returning.

Next year Ullmark makes $8.25 million and we are also paying $1million for Korpi to play in Boston, so in someways he is making $9.25 million next year when you add the Korpi money to it.

He makes 7M in real dollars next year because typical Dorion and Melynk always pay more to backload contracts so that they can kick the can down the road.

I don't think a lot of people here would still sign that contract because of all the inconsistency, but in theory an 8.25M cap hit for a top 15-20 starting goalie isn't that crazy, especially when considering the Senators tax. Kevin Lankinen just got 4.5M with a NMC and signing bonuses after a Michael Condon style breakout season. The market is completely different now.

Oilers have LTIR space, trade Forsberg for Pickard and a lower round pick. This instantly gives us cap space to do something else. Most importantly, next season if Leevi isn't ready, Pickard is signed for one more season as a solid backup.

8 games he was lights out.

the other 19 he has .890 SV%

Just not good enough.

He was literally swimming in net. I was cringing so bad, it was like watching Gerber in net again. I literally have PTSD from it.

I feel like right now he's only playing well enough to keep it from completely getting away from them, but that's still more than they've gotten the past few years. It's not good enough right now, but it's not a disaster. Hopefully he plays his way into being more consistent.

Watching Linus' interview from today and I am once again struck by how eloquent and relaxed he is. His makes me want to hear more of his philosophical views on the meaning of hockey and life.

Good enough to get us that win. If he hits his top gear, we'll cruise into the playoffs.

But I'll take "a chance to win" for now lol
3 GAA in his last 6 or 7? That isn't really a chance to win.

The boys have been saving his bacon while he is letting in weak goals each game.

He can and should improve, which is the only positive. Hopefully he is ready to peak when he need him most.

I'm definitely worried about his body language during the game. For parts of the game, he was moving like an old man with back problems. I'm starting to think the medical and training staff needs to change up his daily routine somehow because there's something going on there that isn't right.

I agree. He literally looked like that. Against Chicago too. They scored a goal because he took 2 lightyears to react from puck behind the net.

It's really, really concerning.

He’s leaky early which is hard mentality because these guys are always coming from behind. He battles and seems to keep us in there, he does make huge saves it’s he just lets in 1 softie a game early.

It’s amazing the team is being dragged along by Stutzle, Brady and Sanderson right now. Power on Power our guys are a top NHL steam, when Ullmark locks in we’ll be a Cup threat

Remember how he was the team's mvp for a solid month. He'll get back on track no problem. He's a guy who seems to need to shake the rust off big time.

At what point do you classify that as a hot streak? We have 60+ games in the rear view mirror. When does we stop projecting what he could be and start assessing what he has been?
