If Rasmussen play well with Larkin and Raymond, we should keep him.
At this point I'm not counting on any miracles lol ... unless nygard kasper danielson bust and no one emerges from Lombardi buchelnikov etc.... rasmussen and copp are destined to be 4th liners on this team

I'd have no problems dealing ras at any time he'll never be a consist 50-65 pt guy

I mean it sounds like Copp is one of the sick players. And playing 3C is a big enough role to call up Kasper instead of Watson. Put together Burgers - Kasper - Tarasenko for line 3
Watson is playing because both Copp and Motte are out. Not sure what's going on with Fish.

It's supposed to be Ras-Kasper-Burger which basically emulates the GR line with Ras instead of Mazur, playing basically the same role so I think that might work.... but I certainly wouldn't object to seeing someone that can finish instead like Tank. It already looks like Kane and Tank need to be separated, but hard to tell because Compher can't generate offense. He's a passenger, not a driver.

Kasper/Burger need a winger that can finish. Raz is not the guy. Tank gets easier matchups.

I'm pretty hopeful for this Edvinsson-Seider pairing. Right now, it's only okay. They're pretty chaotic together, I've seen them bump into each other 3 or 4 times, they have trouble with their breakouts and assignments.

But when it works, it WORKS. The breakouts they succeed on are super fast and direct. The front of the net has never been clearer. A forward can barrel at the net full speed and they end up just bouncing off the immovable wall out front. When they pinch up it's a thing of beauty.

And I'm pretty hopeful that as Edvinsson outgrows his rookie phase and they learn each other that they can mitigate the sloppy mistakes while playing up their strengths. It's an exciting prospect.

Alex Wenneberg was traded for a 2nd...

Sean Mohanen was traded for a 1st plus...

Rumors are Flames are also looking for a center with a right handed shot.

The problem is that Compher is actually living up to what we signed him to be so it makes no sense to trade him. I really don't understand why he often gets lumped in with Copp.

Lumped in? No one's trading value for Copp, a 1st round pick is a legit good get for Compher(imo). Compher isn't being traded because he's bad, he's being traded because I think Kasper can play almost as well as a rookie and moving forward Red Wings would have more money/cash for defense.

Really the idea only popped up when I read Flames are looking for a right-handed center. It's literally nothing Compher did to make me not like him.

It's easy to say move Copp/Holl/Maatta/someone else that sucks but does ANYONE in the league actually want to trade for them?

I'm pinning an extra feather in people cap for anyone that REALLY believed in Kasper last year. He's looked good, just no denying it.

yeah, the Flames offered a 1st for Compher I'd at least have to think about it. It is good value, and the likelihood of things falling apart in Calgary has to be pretty high.

It's better to move him now before he becomes untradeable. Hes only now a 45-50 ish pt guy recently from being a 2nd line guy whose about to be 30

Kasper is a top 10 pick who can be put in that role and danielson another top 10 pick will likely join next season and compher will drop a line and production will dip. We should be thinking ahead ... that being said knowing yzerman he prob gave him a no trade clause

Maybe because he actually has trading value, unlike most of our teams

J.T. Compher - Detroit Red Wings

If the Flames are serious about adding a middle-six center, J.T. Compher is the ideal option. He's a right-handed forward, he's 29 years old, and he's able to play on the wing as well. The Red Wings are trying to make their own run to the playoffs, so prying Compher away from their team would be costly for the Flames. But if they think they have a shot at the postseason, a player like Compher is exactly what could boost the middle of their lineup.

According to Seravalli, who appeared on Amazon Prime Video’s "Coast to Coast" on Thursday, the Flames "don't have any interest in tearing things down."

Seravalli indicated that Calgary's general manager "has been working the phones in recent days to try and find a center to add to the Calgary Flames in their middle-six."

Just look it up dude. Takes 5 seconds.

Far more likely they trade Veleno imo.
