honest question. Why would the Oilers want first place? It’s best that this club do not finish first. It’s best when this club are NOT favorites in playoffs.

With so much season left, they should absolutely be trying for first. Before this last stretch, we were barely inside the playoff race. A really bad stretch of games (as unlikely as it may be) could put us right back to that position.

I think I’ve just been so jaded by the teams of the past, that no lead ever feels comfortable, whether it be in the games, or the standings.
