Nice win but man….Patrick Kane is cooked. Stick a fork in him. He can’t even complete a pass anymore. Almost feel sorry for him having to go out like this. Painful to watch.
Kane is fine.

And the whole point in making these trades is to have scoring talent all over the lineup. We don’t need Kane to be what he was in Chicago, he doesn’t neeed to be the star and focus point of the offense every night. Some nights he will be but when he’s not Panarin will be and when he’s not Zibanejad will be and so on. That’s why this lineup is so dangerous. Legitimate scoring talent all over the lineup who can pick up the slack any given night.

The Canes began the match with huge chops to the chest of the Rangers. But the Blueshirts would not be defeated. The Canes repeatedly landed blows on the Rangers, but they started shaking like Hogan before that last punch caused the Rangers to do the Hogan stare and wave the no-no finger. The Rangers proceeded to rally with big blows to the Canes, sending them crashing through the ropes and falling onto the apron below. The Rangers then landed a high cross body on the fallen Canes. The Canes staggered back into the ring before the Rangers finished them off with the patented Hogan leg drop for the 1-2-3 victory.

First period was awful but when the Rangers found their legs and started skating they outplayed them. Rangers had 30 less shot attempts but high danger chances were even basically. That's just what Carolina does, it's all they can do they have to put everything on net and hope for rebounds and loose pucks to maintain puck possession. But if you take away their time and space at all they collapse like in the 3rd period.

30-16 shots in favor of not us. It's not negativity, it's a issue if we're getting doubled in shots and Shesty has to stand on his head.
Yeah but almost all of those surplus shots were garbage with very little chance of going in. Scoring chances were 24 to 19 and high danger chances were 9 to 8. Almost any starter is .950 or better against low danger chances like those

gutsy win.

Completely lost all hope after that 5 on 3. Battled back and got stronger as the game went on.

Our breakout really needs to be addressed... From personnel to schematics, it needs to be overhauled.

Hopefully this breaks Fox out of his funk. Panarin has been old Panarin for quite some time now. Confidence in Shesty again.

Kane isn't built for playing Carolina it seems... judgement comes after the Playoffs.

Schneiders best game in a long while
Schneider was good, yes!!

I don't care what anyone says, we're not winning a series against this team if we can't figure out alternate ways of getting out of our zone with the puck low without ringing it around the boards for a turnover the majority of the time.
They couldn’t do it last year either

…until they could.

I have confidence we would figure them out in a 7 game series. They’re a one trick pony. They’re very good at that one trick, but they don’t have the necessary personnel to play any other way.

I feel like the game turned when it got a little more physical. Like Carolina was thrown off or then went looking to throw a hit instead of doing what they normally do.

But god, im not sure i cant watch a series of their boring play.

Kid line does everything but score. Kakko needs to shoot more too. Passed up 1or 2 good opportunities

Exactly. Kane isn't needed to carry the team every night. He's got no pressure. He's bound to find his scoring touch eventually.

Give me a break. Rangers have beaten them 5 of the last 6. Carolina usually outshoots other teams. A lot of them are from the perimeter. They had 67 SOG in a game this year and lost.
