We should just make it a yearly habit of picking up the smooth skating swede dman in the 2nd round, the D pipeline would always be stockedSecond round swedish defender, sounds familiar..Here's hoping him and Salomonsson can make a great pairing down the road..

I'll take that in a heartbeat.A bigger enstrom
Have their sticks been compared?A bigger enstrom
Any chance this kid could start in the A to expediate the process?Second round swedish defender, sounds familiar..Here's hoping him and Salomonsson can make a great pairing down the road..

Get him to the moose now, before he changes his mindI'd leave him in Sweden for at least another year. Let him get a full SHL season under his belt, see how he does there and then sign him and bring him over to the Moose.
I know you are kidding around, but it's interesting to compare the two. There have been a few good studies on predictive factors for NHL success among draftees and the bottom line seems to be this:Right behind Stanley lol

FONZ has to be his nickname.Juat realized that Fonzy is the last piece of the PLD trade to finally be revealed.
Turning Copp and PLD into Morgan Barron, Brad Lambert, Elias Salomonsson, Thomas Milic, Gabriel Vilardi, Rasmus Kupari, Alex Iafallo, and Alfons Freij could be absolutely delicious when we look back on it one day.Juat realized that Fonzy is the last piece of the PLD trade to finally be revealed.
That could be a full starting lineup in a few years lolTurning Copp and PLD into Morgan Barron, Brad Lambert, Elias Salomonsson, Thomas Milic, Gabriel Vilardi, Rasmus Kupari, Alex Iafallo, and Alfons Freij could be absolutely delicious when we look back on it one day.
I'll go out on a limb and say that Freij is who Heinola would be if Heinola had plus skating and a bit more size.
I still think Heinola can be an NHL defenseman, but Freij has a lot of Heinola's craftiness with the puck but combined with very good skating and a solid frame at almost 6'1" already (measured 6'0.5" and 197 pounds at the NHL draft combine).
Freij and Salmonsson might be a couple of D to build around. Great mobility, decent size and good puck skills.
Freij was in the Swedish J20 league, and he scored a bunch. He was 3rd highest scoring D in the U-18 tournament. So far, his offensive production has been good.I think we're fortunate if Freij has the same statistical profile of Heinola at the same age.
