This is probably my favorite Eastern North Carolina style recipe that I have//make myself:
1 & 1/2 cups white vinegar
1 & 1/2 cups cider vinegar
1 & 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 & 1/2 Tbsp cayenne
2 Tbsp hot pepper sauce (I like Mango Habañero sauce)
1 & 1/2 Tsp salt
1 & 1/2 Tsp fresh ground black pepper
Throw everything in a mason jar with a tight-fitting lid. Refrigerate for 2-3 days so that the flavors blend. Shake the jar every 8 hours or so. Should keep for a few months, but I doubt it'll last that long.
This comes out quite spicy btw, but I love hot food (I've done the Carolina Reaper challenge before), so you may wish to modify the hot sauce and or cayenne
