Betts was also the original 4th liner who caused way too much arguing on the internet. One of my favorite players will always be Blair Betts. The prototypical fourth line center.

So true. But Betts was a very good 4th line center as I recall. But yes, there was much discussions about him.Betts was also the original 4th liner who caused way too much arguing on the internet.
Not exactly setting a high bar here. Fedorov was awful. One of the many attempts by Sather to get bloodlines? Who knows?
Remember when Brian Lawton stopped by for a cameo? Former 4th overall pick. And awful. As was Daigle.
Plus did we not have Pilon and Flatley from the Isles ?Ahh, yes John Mclean. He and Driver came here to retire from the Devils.
Not Flatley. Lafontaine.Plus did we not have Pilon and Flatley from the Isles ?
Not Flatley. Lafontaine.

I know...was hard to keep track of guys . I watched some fight clips lately and there were guys I never heard of before . There was a McDougal McDougall MacDougalld one of them in a game against the Flyers in pre season....I never heard of him nor can I remember him.So many imports around that time. Flatley, it is.
Watched Red Army. Speaking of remembering some guys. How good were the Russian 5?
The funny thing is that they were the original "soft" Russians. People thought they were afraid to fight. These guys were in the army, but afraid to fight. They weren't intimidated by anyone. Just look at that series against Canada. Kasatanov could lay as big a hit as any and just try to win a battle against the boards when going against Krtutov.Sergei Starikov used to officiate some of my games when I played in Hackensack in 1997-98, before I moved down south.
The immediate thing that enters my mind is the Red Wings and how they terrorized the NHL and arguable iced the greatest team of all time in 2002Watched Red Army. Speaking of remembering some guys. How good were the Russian 5?
Pretty darn good . The Russian team has mostly always had a dominating 5 since 1972 . Man...those guys were mesmerizing on the ice . Just imagine how those guys on the 72 team on defense felt trying to defend against something they were so unprepared for . LOL...certainly was an eye opener for a lot of us hockey fans . Certainly changed the game too. No question on that . We probably owe the Russians for improving the NA game ...especially the conditioning levels and skill levels .Watched Red Army. When Ken Morrow got to the Isles right after the Olympics, he found it unbelievable just how easy the practices were compared to what he had been used to under Brooks.especially the conditioning levels and skill levels .
Because he’s not worth mentioning. His did you go through 41 pages and not mention Bobby Sanguinetti?
No, he's not. But at least he is not cringe-worthy. Unlike Jessiman.Because he’s not worth mentioning.
There so many great names of guys who killed the Rangers. If I'm not mistaken, Alan Bester was goalie who just owned the Rangers.Yet another name which I thought of (could be because Youngblood was on the other day). Peter Zezel. The guy would torment the Rangers.

It'a number game. There's more Schmoes in the league than stars.....The problem is the players that will/would torment the Rangers are/were generally far from all-stars.
To that point, Wayne Gretzky never killed the Rangers. Yet, John Tonelli did.
Toneli was a very good player. The problem is the players that will/would torment the Rangers are/were generally far from all-stars.

Lump him in with the likes of Dominck Rousel. If Bester was an owner, Rousel was part owner as well. There so many great names of guys who killed the Rangers. If I'm not mistaken, Alan Bester was goalie who just owned the Rangers.
