I wonder if Kris's lifetime battles with Migranes are because of this?
No, they wouldn't affect one another.

That sucks!
If he is not healthy enough to play, how does that affect the teams cap?
I'm talking about next season and beyond.
JF would they operate right away or can he go forward without it? You think he had the surgery already? Open heart surgery is a risk within itself.

She has been a CCU nurse on the coronary unit for many many years. Well was one, she is now on another unit but most of her career was a CCU coronary nurse.
Letang is her favorite player too.
And she was pretty positive about his complete recovery with one surgery. With the one caveat that there were no what she called 'residuals' meaning damage from the stroke. Around a six week recovery and good as new.
One of her friends who also was a nurse had exactly the same thing, they caught it, open heart surgery, was back on the unit in six weeks completely healed of the problem.
Sounds bad but not the worst news. If it was minor they're very treatable.
WTF!?!? A stroke is no joke, he should probably be on lifetime blood thinners and career over. Unless they fix that hole I can't imagine him not garnering a continuous need for Coumadin or any other blood thinning agent. Otherwise it will be a high risk for recurrent strokes in the future...also I am an RN not a doctor so take that with a grain of salt, but This is not great news for Kris.
Not on the phone with the GF. I said what she told me.
She did not think that blood thinners would be an option when she talked to me though. The surgery to repair the hole. It is interesting that her 6 week recovery time for that kind of surgery dovetails with the amount of time that the Pens say he could be out though.
"He'll be on blood thinners for 6 weeks & monitored the whole time. Re-evaluated at that point." #Pens coach Bylsma
there is no such thing as a "minor" stroke. Sid's concussion issues should have disabused anyone of the notion of mild mental health issues. If I'm Letang, I'm seriously rethinking my life's priorities right now....
Don't be obnoxious for nothing. I'm just trying to analyze the article carefully to get a better perspective on how serious a stroke it really is.
