Lemieux is never really been a popular player. I don’t think it adds much to us other than he’ll piss people off. I’m not sure how tough he actually is vs being an agitator and I’ve never seen him do good things with a puck. Maybe he’s a good forechecker. If Pono or Rees can’t beat him out they don’t deserve to play I suppose.

Maceachearn was a better player.

I wouldn't call the Lemieux signing as "blocking a prospect". His cap hit is low enough that if either Rees or Ponomaryov impresses during the year, he can be fully buried in the minors.
