Let’s talk about: Jason Robertson (EDIT: 1st Dallas Star to hit 100+ points in a single season)

Robo is making a strong case to be a Hart nominee. 28 more points then the second leading point getting on a deep Stars team. Before there was talks about how he was a product of Pavs/Hintz and he’s put that debate to bed. He’s outscored both of them by a large margin even though they’re on the same line and pp unit.

He’s got a good shot at finishing 3rd in the league, if not probably top 5 with that pace he’s been on lately.

At the end of the day, it’s McDavid’s to win so who really cares I guess lol

Been a fan of this annoying ass team since I was in diapers in 93, and I’ve never been more confident in the Stars future because of this guy, his draft class, and the others coming up.

Where does Robertson rank amongst US born players right now? Top three with Matthews and Tkachuk, right?
I'm not even convinced Matthews is above Robertson. Last two seasons Robertson is outperforming Matthews with a lot less ice time.

We all know McDavid is going to win it but would Edmonton make the playoffs if he only scored 70-80 points? Would Dallas make the playoffs in Robertson was not going crazy this season? I think Edmonton would still make the playoffs and Dallas would be outside looking in. However i get it, 148 points is just way too many to not give him the award. Robertson for sure should be nominated along with Pasta and McDavid IMO.

Somewhere back in this thread someone said that Robertson was not the first as it happened in Minnesota North Stars history. I replied to that and it it went off the rails with back and forth on what the definition of a new team is blah blah and this is where we ended up. I'm honestly tired of this post but my OCD prevents me from not clicking the notification and reading what someone said...lol

I had no idea you were Canadian honestly.
Just here for the OCD

Don't want to make a new thread but also not sure about bumping an old thread but here we are.

What's going on with this guy this year? I know he's coming off an injury but is that entirely the reason? Does he miss Pavelski? Hintz hasn't been quite as productive either.

Foot injury last year, had surgery off season, may take a full year to get back to 100%.

Johnston has like 5% shooting. Robbo is working back into full health.

Duchene and Seguin are shooting like 35%.

The Stars scoring will normalize over the course of the year. Ultimately this is why you have scoring depth.
